Zest T1

Seems the Zestmobile site has reached it's cap ... is anybody able to share/torrent the flash file
Zest_T1_Afrihost_Launch_Storage_Repartition.zip
?

Will upload tonight once I'm at home if no one else manages in the meantime

Its better running 2000mAh as opposed to our batteries that are 1600mAh. Do you think it will work if it fits, or will it just fry the phone?

There mAh doesn't matter in compatibility, that's basically how big it is. The voltage is the thing that needs to be the same.

I realise it will be slow going with the torrent so I'm uploading to Google Drive as well. Will share that too once it's ready.

Re GPS Navigation:
Does google maps have navigation assistance? I could not get mine to work. It finds the address no problem but does not then give directions how to get there.
If google maps does not have navigation capabilities then please tell me what the best App is for GPS navigation with voice directions in SA (with SA maps) for the Zest T1.

In maps, drop a pin (long press) where you want to go, the address appears at the bottom of the screen with a mode of transport on the right, select that then pick your route

You can try Waze. It's a good app with gmaps integrated.

I'd say check your voice output settings as Google Maps does have voice navigation. But it's known to have issues on the T1, so as suggested, try Waze.

Ok, I did two things to my phone and am worried I have now messed something up. First, I ran the repartition patch; then, while I sat looking at the phone with the case off I saw two scrappy looking stickers on the body of the phone. My phone is the white one, the stickers were kind of grey white and looked like those "we ship with these on to protect from scratches" kind of stickers. So I idly fiddled and pulled them off. Their sticky side looked a bit weird, so I hope I haven't pulled off anything important...

Now I have no signal on any sim card I try. I managed to squeeze out like one bar of signal on a cell c sim card for a second or two, but that was it.

Did something glitch whilst I was repartitioning the phone? Or was that tape on the body of the phone actually important? And if so....WHY TAPE??? I see that and it is like an OCD trigger. :(

Not sure which ones you pulled off, but if you check this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2595508 which seems to be basically the same phone with similar problems there are some pics of people fiddling with the antennas which could be what you fiddled with.

Sorry just went through that thread again and it seems I was wrong, its the GPS antenna that they are fiddling with.

I think you just pulled out the two antennae - hence no signal.
