Zim elections today, thoughts?

The trouble is not entirely in Mugabe, but the people in office around Mugabe as well. Until those people also get voted out, it will be very hard to turn the direction of that sinking tanker.

Almost like they need to dissolve government entirely... and than start fresh at this point.

Apparently he has 5 "generals" who advise and work closely with him. So his presence will be felt even if he is not there ....

I simply don't believe conditions in Zim can get worse, they breaking all sorts of records already, inflation, depreciation of the currency etc etc.. It would be like starting at the bottom and going down if Bob wins again... Zim is more a coral reef than a sinking tanker...

Mugabe loses/dies: His general makes a war hence more refugees in SA
Mugabe wins: Economy grows worse and more refugees in SA

Either way, SA is in the recieving end, and what does our government do about it? Nothing, except say it was a "free and fair" election

Its not those who cast the votes with the power but those who count them. Although in this case you have to love ghost voters

First results in Zim have started trickling in
First results from yesterday’s polls in Zimbabwe have started trickling in from polling stations in Harare.

Blue papers with results of polls are being stuck up outside schools and buildings there.

They show the results only from individual polling stations.

The four stations visited show that opposition leader Morgan Tsvangirai is in the lead.

President Robert Mugabe has a significant amount of votes in these stations and comes second.

There are reports that MDC supporters are already celebrating, although there are no definitive constituency results as yet.
702 eyewitness news...

We live in hope.

They said on the news that when the cameras were gone,1000s of voters were being turned away...Obviously not Mugabe supporters...

Tomorrow Essop Pahad will release a press statement saying South Africa endorses the elections as free and fair.. watch :)
