Zimbabwe orders Internet shutdown

When the Zimbabwean government ordered internet service providers to shutter parts of the web in an effort to curb anti-government protests, it also plunged homes into darkness because people can’t pay their utilities online.

Most people in the southern African nation use Econet Wireless Zimbabwe Ltd.’s Ecocash mobile-phone payment system for daily transactions.

Things Zimbabweans have:
Land
Tear Gas Grenades
Bearer Bonds.

Things that Zimbabweans don't have:
Fuel
Cooking oil
Flour
Bread
Baked Beans
Internet

How is that socialist utopia working out then?

Sorry I don't mean to worry you, but its coming. I am trying to avoid retirement here, because I am well aware of what the cANCer wants.
if the pooh hits the fan let me know where you going, i will tow my caravan behind my bike :laugh:

Lol, and these idjits really think the West will not know what is going on in their country if the shut down the Internet. Much like children covering their eyes believing they will become invisible. The intelligence are shining....

I wonder how hard it would be to hook up an old dial-up modem to your phone line, and then route the traffic through your broadband connection. That way Zim folk could dial in to your modem and regain internet access the good old fashioned way.
