Zimbabwe orders Internet shutdown

When the Zimbabwean government ordered internet service providers to shutter parts of the web in an effort to curb anti-government protests, it also plunged homes into darkness because people can’t pay their utilities online.

Chatted to a mate yesterday who has a lot of contacts in Zim and apparently the internet shutdown was deliberate for a massive government shutdown. The army has lists of people who were anti the current president and they are going house to house beating people up and making others disappear. Even the more famous, and hence normally untouchable guys are being targeted. There was one famous pastor who was vocally anti Zanu who they previously did not touch who has now disappeared into a jail with no word of his status. Its bad there. What is getting out paints a bleak picture. The Crocodile is doing what he has always been best at. Repression and making dissidents disappear.
