I wonder how hard it would be to hook up an old dial-up modem to your phone line, and then route the traffic through your broadband connection. That way Zim folk could dial in to your modem and regain internet access the good old fashioned way.

It's not about the west knowing, it's about stopping zim people from organising a revolution.

true, a colleague of mine showed me photos on whatsapp, quite brutal,

and in all of this, where is el presidente? on holiday in Singapore, or dubai where all the dictators hide away.

The China censorship is not as bad as what has been done in ZIm, 2 of the biggest telecomms providers (Econet and Telone) have shut the internet entirely so even VPNs won't work. Like not a single bit of theri customers' data has moved in those networks since yesterday

Rather dumb of the Zim and others like them who shutdown the internet to try suppress unrest. If they were smart they'd institute a temp tax on sms/WhatsApp/etc and earn a few more pennies as usage goes through the roof.
