I think he meant turn SA into a banana republic. But in any event, if any major changes are made to the constitution - such as president for life - then I'm out. Expropriation without compensation (e.g. legalised theft) - I'm out. The latter is quite key - you will see a exodus of mining companies from SA.

We have been through a few in our history. We have had the South Africa Act of 1909, Republic of South Africa Constitution Act of 1961, Republic of South Africa Constitution Act of 1983, Constitution of the Republic of South Africa of 1993 and finally Constitution of the Republic of South Africa, 1996.

As mentioned, there are many examples. To see where SA is heading you just need to look up north. The moment you understand the government's mentality and go back to only news articles the past year, common sense will guide you.
 
When we said Zuma was going to change this country into Zim 2.0 the peanut gallery laughed.

There you are wrong. It's just a piece of paper, we won't be the first to abolish, suspend, suppress or ignore a constitution.

This is the first one under a democracy. It is considered one of the most liberal ones in the world. It really was quite an achievement and it is a document that belongs to all of us as citizens and it is something we should be very proud of.

Remember that Zuma decided that the ANC will rule forever or till Jesus comes (whichever will be first) and he plans to be there till the end - whatever it takes.
It is good for all of us who live here to watch The Last King of Scotland and Hotel Rwanda to remind ourselves of what Africa could be like - and the problem is that whoever lights the match to start the revolution won't be able to extinguish that fire again.

Wrong. It gives people inalienable rights and freedoms which we never had before and it is the cornerstone of our democracy. Without this document, we are in deep ****.

have to agree here. Hopefully I can finish my degree this year. If Zooma becomes president for life, SA is uber fcked. There will be rainbow nation... just Zuma helping himself to women/money like Gaddafi (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2474533/The-terrible-truth-Gaddafis-harem.html)... Dictators love abusing power...

I do not care for El Presidente and his plans. There are things he simply cannot do in terms of the Constitution.

You obviously do not have a lot of political and law experience as to what he can or cannot do in terms of the constitution. You also need to go do some reading up on the history of other African countries and how their dictators established themselves. History somehow has a way of repeating itself time and again without fail.

Anyway I saw this coming. I refer to Zuma as Dingaan2. Everything in him reminds me of the traitor and savage Dingaan was!!

Please let us know what you are referring to in the case of SA. Also while you are it, compare our Constitution to theirs.
