Zuma promises lower telecoms costs

just remembered there was a thread I never pick up on about vlive because someone was away at the time

We will work to increase broadband speed and ensure a high standard of internet service, in line with international norms.”

Hey, I dont care much about EU norms, but what Kenya's got pretty much is all I want...I mean, like R400 for uncapped adsl with some Paytv thrown in to the bargain...if you can bring me whtat they have in KENYA for crying out loud, MR Zuma, I swear I will start voting ANC

To get back to the topic of this thread, again I ask for sweeping, unsubstantiated statements to be reduced to actual points that can be discussed. So let's discuss the cost of broadband in SA and what we all can do to drive it down

Ok, this is VERY simple. Stop selling us GIGS when you BUY BANDWITH. If you truly wanted to drive the prices down further than they are currently being driven, man up and be the first ISP in SOUTH AFRICA to do this. I mean, wow, they are doing in Kenya for less than I am paying for all my gigs. If you can arrange this m8, I will send u my next gf to spank u all night long. Till then, any isp in my books (and this isnt a general acusation, this is my opinion and it is only relevant to me) are nothing more than a bunch of criminals.

Dude, this is a really old thread. He works for iburst now.

Zuma is a clever politician but not an astute man. He knows he can bet on the overall price of telecoms coming down while pushing the right buttons in the rural vote. So middle class voters will end up supporting him because they think they will get a better deal and so it goes, he never ceases to amaze with his one price fits all approach. Now all of this on prime time television. Zuma is quite a salesperson, but end of day we all still paying through our noses and the elite are still milking us dry. Let them eat broadband says Zuma. Well what is Zuma doing for the hungry who have to still communicate ? When is broadband going to be absolutely free? When is there going to be universal, guaranteed minimum free bandwidth? While we at it, we can also start demanding Foodbanks and Free Food and Energy.
