Assuming for a second that they do exist, I find it quite odd, even unbelievable, that evidence of this nature which was ( as we were 'led' to believe) the single reason for charges against JZ being dropped by the NPA, is in fact in the possession of the lawyer of the accused, and not the NPA itself. ?

Did Hulley not initially approach the NPA in 2009 to play the tapes to them (or give them transcripts of what was on it?). So he must then have had them all along and they were never in the NPA's possession?

Which just leaves a 'sneeky' suspicion that the NPA was complicit in allowing Zuma to stand for president instead of facing his corruption charges.

We are again led to believe that this is the case, and that transcripts were made, but that these transcripts (crucial evidence) were somehow inexplicably given to the accused attorney.
This is not how it is supposed to work, at least with my limited knowledge of the law.
How is it that the prosecutors relinquish this crucial evidence?

Quite right. It does come across as rather unusual as far as I'm concerned.

Makes no sense. If Hulley had the tapes all along, why were the transcripts given back to him? He has the ORIGINAL tapes! Why did the NPA not keep the transcripts?
