This is very interesting, I recently received an OTA for MIUI.

I am actually astounded as to how much my battery is lasting, I don't know what they've done or if my experience is purely anecdotal but I am impressed.

My 2 year old battery is lasting up to 4 days which is miraculous for this phone, or at least, the way I use it.

That was normal for my Desire, but I must add I normally flashed my own Radio+RIL

As the person who started this thread I just want to take a moment to say 'bon voyage' to my faithful Desire. She served me well for just on 2 years, but the time has come to part ways. She's been replaced by a younger, sexier model in the shape of an HTC Sensation.

*sniff*

I'll never forget you...

PS - She's in the Classifieds, if anyone's interested...

I'm waiting to jump ship as well. Motorola razr maxx where are you?

That's if HTC doesn't come up with a phone with matching battery capacity.

Do you have a link for this radio +ril of yours. I get 6 hours heavy use. Wifi, data.

OMW, dont know how I missed this post.

I do have the links but my Phone was an import not SA model so not going to help you one bit, in fact might cause problems. I can however point you in the direction to start a search for yours

I had to send my desire back because it was doing the random boot loop thing...Now, 9 months after repair, it's doing it again. I'm getting a new phone in a week or two, I wonder if I should send it back to leaf and have it repaired as a back up? It's not as bad as it was the first time, but if you use it for a while it gets super hot and then restarts...

Depends on cost, you may as well just buy a cheap old Mobi cell as a back-up.

It's still under warranty, should be no costs at all, least of all because it's the same problem twice in it's warranty period!

Not sure if this has been mentioned before: If anyone is having problems with the small internal memory on the Desire, try out an app called Data2SD. You can set X amount of space on your SD card which you can use for application data. After continuously getting the 'low memory' warning, I got sick of deleting data for my apps to free up space. So far with Data2SD installed I have not received that warning, and I've set 100mb as my 'data drive'. It's working well so far with FB, Browser, Whatsapp, GMail, Maps, StumbleUpon.

The app requires root access.

**EDIT**

Be careful with this app. It will move over items to the SD card that some other ROMs require and it is not easy to get them back onto internal memory. I'm battling with this now!
