10 of the best Android apps

There are over 100 000 apps...

Anyway, what about Google Goggles?

I'm still trying to figure out how to sync my Outlook Tasks with my HTC Desire, in an easy simple way. Why is it so hard and complicated. Android has really failed in this department.

Just for those of you that want to comment:

The didn't say these are the Top 10 it's only a list of 10 good ones. Which means mybb don't have any stories anymore.

I disagree! Me thinks rpm wrote this article for me & everyone getting a new Android phone soon, or someone that had his/her phone for a while.

As soon as I get my Desire HD, I will be trying out these apps!

Thanks Uncle rpm! :)

If this is the best Android can offer out of 100 000 possible apps, they are in serious poo.

The apps in the Android market are by no means inferior to the apps in the iphone market.

Quantity does not equal quality.

The Android market is starting to grow quite rapidly as Android devices begin to gain more and more market share.

I use jorte on my phone to get my my calendar and tasks.
Maybe you can try Myphoneexplorer (http://www.fjsoft.at/en/highlight.php)?
If that doesn't work try syncing outlook with gmail and then sync gmail with jorte?

Are there any Android apps which you can't get on iOS? I mean what are the killer Android apps? I'm not talking about Swype or keyboard replacements, or thems and stuff, I mean apps.

i never quite understand this killer app question. because it just seems to me that if either the iphone had a brilliant app the other didn't, someone or some people using the platform without it would get on it?

Well iOS apps make developers a lot more money than Android apps - so they're more inclined to spend their precious time making iOS apps.

Angry birds is free on Android - unfortunately it has annoying ads which impede the gameplay, and slow the game down. It's only $1 on iPhone.

I don't wanna start a whole Android vs iPhone debate, I'm not an Apple zealot. In fact I've decided my next phone will be an Android phone - (the redbull deal). I've got a 4th gen iPod touch for all the apps I need, the Android phone has a good browser and adequate email support for when I need internet on the go.

Shock!! Horror!!

Just wait for Android's Market to offer paid apps worldwide.
We shall see.

That deal is the one I've been waiting for. The iPhone 4 is beautiful and best in class but it's too expensive for me. I can't get over how awesome the Redbull deal is! It would make anyone into an Android fan! I'm there on day one.

Don't get why people don't like Apple or the iPhone. Look at the facts - the most scientific reviewer of smartphones (IMO) - Anandtech with his extremely detailed review of the new dual-core Android phone.

The Optimus 2X is the first Android phone to render web pages as quickly, if not quicker, than the iPhone 4.
Wifi performance - iPhone tops.
Display quality - the retina display is equal to the best out there
Camera - N8 and iPhone 4 are the benchmark. Even the Optimus's 1080P video is inferior.
Software - pervasive use of hardware acceleration. Advanced API's. More apps than the competition, and generally setting the standard WRT quality.
3G web battery life - iPhone 4 pwns all
Wifi battery life - iPhone 4 pwns all
3G talk time - it's up there
Design - it's the thinnest and best build quality.

Once they make an Android phone which beats the iPhone 4 I'll eat my words.

But ... I love Android too! What can I say, I jailbreak my iOS devices, I think their whole philosophy is cool, and I'm only too glad that there's decent competition around.
