8ta’s contract offerings: Aggressive pricing

The pricing isn't anything to write home about. I have no use for free minutes. I overlook any contract that provides free minutes as its main benefit. I'd much rather receive free airtime and choose what I want to spend it on.

One nice thing is the free landline calls to a nominated Telkom number for two years. That would come in very handy for calling home.

That being said, contract offerings by other networks are far more appealing.

This sucks. I still got 11 months left on the contract I want to move to 8ta. Those free calls to a designated Telkom number is the prize for us as my wife phones home all the time.

The value in 8ta is if you phone Telkom numbers more than other mobile numbers (something my wife and I do).

Interesting, but not enough to make me jump ship; Telkom has enough of my money as is anyway.

One question though: Why, oh why, do they separate the minutes for 8ta to 8ta/Telkom and the minutes for 8ta to everyone else? They have a flat rate for mobile to mobile calls regardless of network, but the minutes are dependent on the network? That seems counter-intuitive and a cheap way to shnaai customers.

What I want to see is reduced rates from Telkom to 8ta. A lot of people divert their business land lines to mobile numbers over weekends (like my wife) and this would save us a couple of hundred randts a month.

The second deal looks good. A phone for you and your wife at R130, with some extra benefits.

There should be a poll, I'm curious about how many MyBB members are willing to trust Telkom enough to sign a 2 year contract :wtf:

Its not like they are going anywhere...

People are being stupid now. Ohh I don't trust telkom blah blah blah but you will go and sign a contract with MTN,Vodacom,CellC or vrgin mobile? What is the difference?

I always say go to the ISP that gives YOU the best deal. Screw trust and loyalty and all that other bs.

25/50MB! Oh my word, from Vodacom's 100MB, this is just getting more and more ridiculous, we are truly going backwards. At this rate, by next year our operators will be touting the miracle of 1MB/month packages.

Yeah, until there are problems and/or you have to phone support and you realise that it's Telkom. No thanks.

Oh, I did not see it was two phones. Wow, thats a good deal. Tempted to take a contract out to test it before I port my first contract (of many) over end of next year.

great Value all round. i didnt know TKG had it in them. I took 8ta prepaid for the value, and contracts are even better. come on Telkom , keep it coming !!! Love it !!

Free Landline calls?

Article said:
To reward early adopters 8ta is further offering the first 100,000 8ta contract subscribers the option to nominate a Telkom landline number to which they can make unlimited free calls for two years.

Does this include landline to cellphone calls?

Unlimited free calls for a year to a nominated telkom home phone.

My god, that is actually a sick f*king deal.

I wonder when are they going to offer iphone on contract.
