This is a good move; nonetheless, I have this worrying feeling that what will happen is that next year Vodacrap and MTN will drop their prices to about the same level, and then nobody's prices will move for the next several years, simply making these the new 'standard' overly-expensive data rates, rather than a price war. Hopefully this new competition from Cell C combined with the launch of 8ta will provide some competitive pressure though. But an all-out price war isn't likely to cause major changes in market percentages, and if they all aim for say a quarter of the market each and put the calculation into their projection models "25% of the market, at these prices" they may just all decide to leave it comfortably there.
