Hey all...

Crawling here on Cybersmart tonight... anyone else having issues ?

Switched to afrihost account and no problems... Cybersmart constant refresh and disconnects... cannot even stream radio on Keepers app.

Thought I'd just get some feedback and call them in the morning if it has not improved.

EDIT: pfffft... now even MyBB is all flakey on CS. Time-out till the morning methinks... yay for Afrihost backup. Zzzzzzzzzzz is calling.

Yep cybersmart extremely slow.

Eish... me unlucky then.... unless it is a Cape Town 384 CS thing.

Cannot get anything to load without a refresh... downloads max out at 4KB/s and then dwindle to death on my Cybersmart account - been patchy today but unusable now.
Afrihost no probs... no time outs and no reloads, speeds 35-37KB/s.

Will check again in the morning then call them if pooooh.

NiteNite.

I think its a telkom thing... perhaps its the upgrades.

I'm on 4meg and I was playing HON tonight... it was perfect, torrents are doing ok as well

Yeah, maybe it's a location thing. They're probably still busy with the OP's Exchange or something.

Seacom is currently rerouting traffic, which is resulting in higher than normal latency and poorer throughput with some servers not being accessible , awaiting feedback:

@who.is.michael Ta for that info. It must be nice knowing about these things!

Cybersmart still borked for me... will use Afrihost until stability has been restored.

Thanks for the input.

No probs... Generally get my info from twitter feeds like @SeacomLive, etc. and TRL Tech (reseller of Cybersmart) as Cybersmart's staff seldom knows the status of Seacom issues...

You might want to try using a different DNS server like;

Comodo Secure DNS
156.154.70.22
156.154.71.22

Google DNS
8.8.8.8
8.8.4.4

Open DNS
208.67.222.222
208.67.220.220

Cybersmart is looking different. Rapidshare is stalled and torrents heavily shaped.

I think they owe us an explanation.

Also Cape Town btw.

Eish... just switched back to Cybersmart from Afrihost, still troublesome. Phoned the helpdesk and they said there is no problem... must be my side.

Tut tut. Here we go round the mulberry bush it seems.

Oh well... Afrihost it will be then until the magic pixie dust fixes everything sommer so.

Eish... even Afrihost is going spotty for me.

Any idea if Axxess voucher-thing would prove to be a reliable stop-gap ?

* sighs *

Edit: Yokay... Afrihost back. Cybersmart pfffft still. AaaiAaaiAaai. What gives?

Yeah cybersmart has been really messed up lately. Guess I gotta start looking for another ISP.

Should be better today: (If the "word" is to be believed, Telkom's infrastructure is to blame)

Look like congestion to me:

...as for "uncapped" on Cybersmart's network, most of the resellers are complaining that it has abruptly been stopped.

Something to consider: "the benefits of transparency" and if that is not convincing enough "the benefits of transparency"

Yay... the magic pixie dust has been sprinkled. Cybersmart OK again.

I cannot agree. Apart from the nationwide Seacom outages, this is the 1st hiccup in months with Cybersmart for me.
I just wish their helpdesk would actually just 'fess-up to issues, rather than give the impression it is all on my side.

Cybersmart will be my primary ISP, with Afrihost as backup and if all else fails, 3G.

It has come to our attention that our upstream uncapped services have not been living up to modern expectations. We are unable to procure a satisfactory alternative upstream provider and have elected to no longer offer this product for resale.

from the wazzup website that resell cybersmart uncapped.

This is not true - Cybersmart will be rolling out new and improved uncapped services shortly which will be available from some of their resellers ;)

I stand corrected, thank you for the update Reuben.

Yes, connection is flying, however my exchange (Leeusig 8 Tamboerskloof) is now experiencing packet loss issues, Telkom is investigating. (please ignore trace route in post 18, as it would be inaccurate)

+1 Agree fully.

Yes, if it was not for www.rtltech.co.za, I would have been very frustrated by now - due to the poor level of communication that is provided. Once again, thank you Reuben.

Would still like feedback from Cybersmart on the above. (other ISP's might as well take note)
