Sounds interesting except for the per GB price. Any chance they will peer with other ISPs so you can use ADSL accounts on their lines? Then we are talking about something worthwhile.
 
The only good thing about this, is that it creates more competition for Telkom and the other ISP's around so it will take some money out of someones pocket and make things cheaper that much sooner.

Or we just hope MWeb or another big ISP (other than telkom) buy/merge with them in the near future.

I think here the price of fibre access is the interesting part. Hence FTTH for under R200 per month - achieved by letting the developer invest in the network rather than the telecoms provider.

Any idea of those costs? Per homeowner per month?
 
Do you think they meant to say 10GIG cap? Those residents would be better off with the Cell C deal...
 
Heres a Ferrari for you for R197/month, but its only got a liter in the tank. And because you have to use our petrol, that'll be 60 Rond a liter. Fanks.
 
Interesting that they are able to deliver at that price & still make a profit. Have we been lied to by Telkom? Apparently they cannot even provide 384 on copper at that price.
 
Wonder who their upstream provider is that must sustain these speeds, while still offering competitive prices?

Hi Guys

The R197 per month is the only cost that is being paid. This is for a full FTTH symmetrical connection, no microwaves or copper or any nonsense on the backbone. We can categorically state that there is NO such offer in the South African market.

The reason for this low cost is the fact that the developer paid for infrastructure on day 1.

We understand the frustration of the 1Gig cap, some of the clients on the estate only uses that and less. The package is about quality and speed, not quantity: The service is backed up by a service level agreement, with onsite support and what's more is that the estate has their own dedicated onsite technician.
