Motorola Defy Fro-yo Software update now available for SA

Good day All

I have receive some good feed back about the RMB.
Just awaiting confirmation.
what i heard is good. should have info today latest Monday morning.

The link above downloads the Motorola Software Updater. The download link becomes available once you check the tick box. Busy downloading the MSU now.
 
The Defy will get official Gingerbread too, confirmed by Motorola.

Plus, if you check up on Cyanogenmod there are rumors that Cyanogenmod will officially support the Defy!

Woot, ordered my upgrade this morning. Cannot wait :D

Duh! Downloaded the updater, plugged in phone and got a message no update available.
 
Guys I've got a DEFY on RBM, the update is not available OTA for us. I downloaded the Software Update package from Motorola, but it says all my data will be deleted (including apps), there is a back up feature included though, does anybody know if this will back up my apps. I literally have a ton of them and don't wanna kill my 500mb downloading apps again

Someone posted in the Cellular Section that that we can upgrade our Defy's. I opened my Software Updater and it said my version is out of date and it started updating itself. After the update I plugged my phone in and it is definately doing something. Saying it is "Checking for software updates" but has been running for 15 minutes now and still only on 10%....so I have a feeling it is actually downloading FroYo! YAY!

Gonna try the update as well. Downloading the MSU now, any idea how big the FroYo update is?
