In reference to this statement made by Afriman a few days ago, and similar statements made before by Afrihost's representative
Afriman claims that you can do 100GB on a 1Mbps without being throttled. As of today I've done +-40gig on my 1Mbps line, and noticed a slow down. I phoned Afrihost now and the service advisor told me my line has been throttled to around 256kbps due to my usage for the month and due to congestion. The slow down has been in effect for the past 3-4 days. I can't now make a video Skype call to my family today because of it. I was under the impression I was able to download at a reasonable rate without this nonsense (40gig / 28 days = 1.43gig/day).
At the moment I'm appalled, worse yet I feel misled by the claim made by Afrihost about what you can do on the line before you are throttled. If someone tells you you can do +- 100 gig for the month without throttled, you would expect something like that. In my case I'm no where near the 100gig (nor do I intend on doing 100gig) yet I've been shafted by Afrihost for doing less than half that.
Looking forward to Afriman's reply. I hope this can be resolved,

http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php/450005-Uncapped-1mbps-account-advice#13You can easily do 100GB on our 1Mbps Uncapped without being throttled, and you can check our Uncapped Feedback thread for what others have said.
