Official Google Nexus 7 Thread

From Amazon by Amazon and direct shipping?

I wasn't able to send the stuff via direct shipping, so used PostBox Courier instead:

  • Cost from Amazon plus shipping to the PostBox Courier depot was R4,138.28.
  • The screen protector cost R78.94, inclusive of shipping to the depot as well.
  • Shipping from Postbox Courier cost R656.04 using Paypal. This was inclusive of the screen protector, a screen protector set for the Nexus 5 as well as a Nexus 5 case.

So it worked out to R4873.26 in total for the Nexus 7. I received it one working day after advising Gary and team that all the orders for my bundle had arrived.

Hi everyone. I've got a Nexus 7 2012 and I have just rooted it. Wanted to know what nice ROMs are available. I've tried CM 11 and the UI is just terrible!! Stock Android is nicer... Downloading Paranoid Android right now and will give that a try. Any other recommendations? It would be nice to have something with multi-window support - like the Note 2:)

Have you tried Omni ROM? It offers multi-window support. Is your device the WiFI only model, or it is the 3G model?

It's the WiFi one... I did try it but maybe it wasn't good - was unofficial and I couldn't find multi-window support unfortunately

The official one definitely supports the WiFi model- check their downloads section, and look out for the "grouper" folder.

Hi guys

If I root my Nexus 7 (2013), will the OTA updates still work or would I then have to sideload updates as they become available?

Hi guys

I loaded the Google experience launcher on my kit kat nexus 7. How do I activate the voice commands to wake up the device? When u say "Go Google" it should activate Google now.

Dammit if only my device could talk it would say "Look at this idiot, he's talking to me" :p thanks for the help.

I am on stable CM 10.2. I want to give KitKat a go. Already downloaded KitKat. I don't want to lose root. Any tips? I know I must do a factory reset.
