I'm still experiencing what seems like heavy shaping during office hours - I just had to log some activity for work, pre 8am loading a site and logging activity took less than 2 minutes. Post 8am, the same activity took close to 10 minutes. HTTP traffic this is... Will log a ticket now.

P.S. this is on 2mb Gold IS.

I'm having the exact same issue (on the same account 2MB Gold IS). After hours the connection is perfect, but after 8am google search page is loading at 2KB/s :(

Everything was working fine before the recent Seacom issues, but right now I'm shaped to 5% of my line speed - it maxes out at 10KB/s on all international sites, and google sites are even worse.

Is there another issue with the Cape Area? I have had extremely high latency all weekend long.

I can confirm that I have the exact same experience. My internet connection was absolutely amazing before the Seacom outage, but now it is average.

Don't know about shaping during business hours as I am at work but after hours it is very erratic. Not that it is anything to go by but before the Seacom trouble I easily managed 6Mb down and 0.8 up on international speedtests every single time where now I am sitting between 3.5-4Mb download. Latency jumps between 180-300.

You should not experience a degraded performance after hours, as we have ample backup capacity in place.

The next time this happens, please open a ticket so that we can investigate.

Naturally, during office hours, (especially today) there will be increased shaping as all the corporate and business clients are back online performing updates, downloads and syncs, making the network very busy.

This should clear in the next day or so, which will automatically decrease shaping levels again

Shaping is horrible here also. Speedtest is normal on everything to local servers and pings and upload speeds internationally are also more or less normal, but download speed is reduced to 104 kbps. That is bits per second, not bytes! It should be 1700 kbps or so!

Surely that is not normal MrBeep? I have lodged a ticket. Please have a look?
 
I can not even open Google and if I do it takes a few refreshes to get the search results, is this normal to happen for the explanation you gave MrBeep ? I am just concerned that it does not clear in the next few days, I am struggling to get work done through the internet.

I've opened a ticket about this already, but please can you explain why this keeps happening, because there really seems to be something seriously wrong with your accounts...

26/02/13 - I signed up for a 4mbps Gold Uncapped Unshaped account and speeds were fine for a few days, but then I experienced heavy throttling of all protocols, including HTTP and HTTPS, during office hours. I emailed support on the 7th of March and they sorted it out. The problem never recurred.

22/03/13 - I sign up for a 50GB standard capped account because my MWEB account was unusable during the SEACOM outage. Speeds were great for a few days, but slowed down again during office hours a few days later. I emailed support on the 26th of March and they blamed it on all sort of issues, from SEACOM to Telkom, but I persisted and they eventually sorted the problem out.

28/03/13 - I ditch MWEB and get a second 4mbps Gold Uncapped Unshaped account from you. Speeds are great for a few days, but suddenly slow down again during office hours today. The gold account I got on the 26th of Feb is working perfectly right now - this one isn't.

Why? I mean, the accounts are great once they get fixed by support, but why can't they all be like that from the start?
 
Can't seem to play any youtube videos (at 480p)without constant buffering on my 4m gold today. Anyone have problems today?
