Seacom is down, affecting international Internet traffic, reports Mweb

Ti uncapped zooming along (watching D.I.C.E. keynotes on Youtube).

I am sure the competition speed test result thread should yield who has been thinking ahead :p
 
That explains my dead line. Grrrr and cell c is still giving me issues so there goes my DR plan.
 
This has been going on since about 9am, if not longer. As an MWEB Business uncapped user, I am disappointed that I have been affected by this. I expected full redundancy for the premium price tag attached to business services.

dont know why isp's dont do everyting on WACS thought it would have been done by now....


What ISP uses WACS as primary link ?
 
Do Seacom own this part of the line or are they leasing it from another provider?

WACS has also had failures recently so that would not be the solution. That said - if you buy from an ISP that has equal capacity on both the East and West coasts then you'll be in a much better position.
 
And I only saw this now, after killing the dam router about 10 times today, and blaming the children's torrents :(

Guess I have to go apologize now.....
