So fnb connect uncapped should launch tomorrow ,and you get quite nice discount depending on your reward level , it can be quite good value for money, depending how good it is.

Nothing on website yet, hope it does go live tomorrow :)

Who is going to try it out?

A little premature for a feedback thread no?

I will most definitely look into it if the price is right and service acceptable.

Price will probably be competitive. So will service level, but that isn't saying much when it comes to our ISPs :D

If i can do 1.5 - 2TB on 10MB uncapped then it is a win for me. This means i can game, stream, browse and anything else with my connection.

:)

Thanks for the headsup though.

Yup, would be good... but how lucrative the offer is depends (as you have pointed out) heavily on your discount level.
What I don't like is that if your credit card spend (which is one of the heaviest contributing factors to your discount level) is not consistent, then your discount level drops.

That basically brings in a factor of not knowing what you will be paying for your connection from month to month.
But that's just me.

Otherwise, I commend FNB on yet another step forward.

you can earn allot of points on cheque card without spending to much :)

This is how you get 1500 points without spending to much, this includes having smart device .

300 ( up from 200 now) - have smart device , you get R50 cheaper if you spend 1500 on your gold cc etc.
300 - use overdraft , set your overdraft to R500 , eft all money to savings pocket, buy something more then R50 , eft the money back.
300 ( up from 200 now) - having savings pocket with R2000 and bank your change , basically you need 2k saved for this.
200 - Have roadside assistance , this is R5 a month , if you cant afford this , you probably wont buy uncapped adsl :P
200 - statements emailed to you , this is free.
200 - have a active credit card.
Unknown ( think will be worth a 100 or so) - You earn additional reward level points if you withdraw more cash from Cash@Till than ATMs, don't have any branch transactions in a month, and shop online with your qualifying FNB Cheque Card.

Nothing yet on fnb connect website :(

My FNB connect account now has a new surf account called uncapped. Before I only had a surf account with 3GB of free data and a prepaid talk account with R10.00 credit.

Not home now to check if the account works but will try later.

Good pointers, but don't you get more points for keeping the Cheque balance over R1000 at all times?

Not anymore :)

Minimum balance Maintain a minimum balance in your FNB Cheque Account each month:

Gold, Encore and Islamic – R1 000
Platinum - R2 000

Maintaining a minimum balance in your account no longer applies.

As per their new rules effective 1 July 2013 (today).
Also, that overdraft trick costs you R30 or whatever their overdraft admin charge is.

Nothing on my side yet either..

I have this sinking feeling that this might end up being fail.

Yip looks like we got to wait a little while longer :(

At least I can switch over to do the spending on my Cheque account so long, so that by that time I can be on the correct reward level. Just means my habits will change a bit.

Good timing for me as I still have another month with my Openweb account. If they can offer a better deal then will move to FNB otherwise I'm going back to OW.

Bietse!! :( Who makes an announcement for an announcement. They trolling me with the free internets and its working. 8 August it is then.

I actually called in and they gave me the pricing for the 1mb line and told me it will only come into effect in august. They will also concurrently run the free capped solution with the uncapped one. Although, as soon as you register for uncapped, the capped solution is no longer available. They will be phasing out the capped solution. Also, the month of july is the month you need to accumulate your "points" to see what level discount you will get for august.
