FNB Connect Uncapped ADSL Feedback

oh when did this happen? i thought they moved it to the 8th because that's when the rewards get replenished?
I was indeed moved the the 8th of August, it sounds like they will use the month of July, using the new rules which kicked in 1st of July, to determine your discount level from 8th of August, if I understand it correct. The only part I am unsure about is, will July's points be multiplied by 12 to calculate your discount value or will they keep on using the rolling amount you are already on.

Lots of questions still, but I think most of them should be answered by around 8th August.

That said, I have already started moving my swiping and payments over to my cheque account, because it looks like it is only for cheque accounts, even though my CC account is 4th reward level, doesnt seem like that will help me. That said, I am fine with changing my spending habits away from my CC, not that it was ever a problem, I guess it will feel better knowing I have that card as a backup only.

Are they doing away with the FREE 3 gigs and moving everying to discounted Uncapped?

I'm on level 3 on ebucks but I get a 0% discount with fnbconnect?

What gives?

Anyone have a link to the discount structure?

nvm I found it here

Same here but I think they work on your cheque account rewards and not only ebucks.I'm on level 3 on ebucks and level 2 on cheque account and also have 0% discount

I see the same thing, but technically they only said it will be from the 8th of August. Also, keep in mind, the levels for July hasn't been worked out yet, you will only know after or on the 8th.

Insurance products linked to your cheque account (Optional Debt Protection, Smart Device Insurance*, Roadside Assistance) 100 each

i see its been lowered to 100 points from 200 :(

Indeed it has changed, also looks like they don't give you points any more for having a minimum amount of money in your cheque account for the month. Looks like it has been replaced with having that money in your savings pocket and bank your change enabled.

Because streaming Services consume more content aswell, not just torrents and P2P.

"The ID/Passport number entered does not currently qualify for any rewards. The above pricing is what you will pay for your monthly Uncapped ADSL subscription."

Wtf. Looks like buggy to me.

Will stick with afrihost thanks.

Im on reward level 5 for ebucks and I get 0% discount too.
Good job FNB, either a buggy system of moving the goalposts yet again.

you can earn allot of points on cheque card without spending to much :)

This is how you get 1500 points without spending to much, this includes having smart device .

*snip*

Nothing yet on fnb connect website :(

Good pointers, but don't you get more points for keeping the Cheque balance over R1000 at all times?

This is the strange part - am sure FNB change the reward parameters every now and again - need to start making screen shots.

Remember checking a month a go, and then doing everything i can to match the most points i could make (without going overboard).

R2000 on cheque was a requirement
think petrol card also gave points - don't see this anymore..

don't think this is very fair - considering that they make it a 12month rolling total....

Probably not the right place for this, but is it just me or does it seem FNB wants you to have a credit card but not actually use it?
It seems they want you to rather use your cheque card for purchases.
I use my credit card for everything but with the new changes it seems like I wont get the same reward points I would for using my credit card?!?
Or am I misinterpreting their terms?

I think its not exactly that.

For example, to get the R50/month discount on your mobile device, you need to spend a certain amount on your credit card, but the saving goes down on your cheque account.

Also, your CC and Cheque account gets different reward points. Ebucks discount for example use which ever one is the highest, but the fnb uncapped only looks at the cheque account points.

So its a tricky situation if you want to make use of all the benefits. IMHO, you need to spend on your Credit Card for both Petro and Goods (Petro cant be more than 20% of total when goods included, else you dont get all the ebucks on the petrol you can) to get the mobile device saving, and on your cheque account you need to do everything else other than spending, and then spending just enough to get the 300 points for the overdraft. Well, that is if you want to min/max all the benefits at least, if you want to go for only specific benefits like the uncapped, then go ahead and only do the cheque account, but I want my R50/month discount too.
