Dud ethernet port, dud USB...I don't get it.
Most probably as they do not want you to copy any PVR recorded material from the decoder onto another source.
Its completely a waste of time...
The current HDPVR's have ethernet ports and USB ports.. why not bloody enable them and allow people to use the technology properly.
Pointless having a decoder that's got all these features but then cripple them and top it off by loading badly written software onto it.
Blocking connectivity to the box I don't understand either. Is this the stone age?
I don't need a decoder for that, in fact thats the reason I don't have a decoder anymore.
I only realised the other day that it actually has two ports! Surely if they wanted to use it only for firmware updates then why not just add one port?I asked an ex colleague who now develops for Multichoice why the useless ports are there.
