Thanks, managed to get through finally (this number worked: +27 87 3300571) but still no idea of how to verify they aren't a scam :)
 
chatted to them and placed an order (the ability to do a chargeback on the credit card made me a little easier) so let's see if they work out...
 
So far they've gone through a lot of effort if it is a scam: many calls, offers of verification from other clients (yes I know that can be faked), email confirmations, sms confirmations... now I wait. Just thankful chargeback from the cc company is an option if it goes wrong (hopefully).
 
So they say first week of July and the website still works well (all the links work, login works etc etc)... wait and see
 
Cancelled my order and got an sms saying my refund has been processed. Waiting for confirmation from the CC co...but no complaints about Touch Store yet. Looks like they're legit. Prices are good too
 
Still waiting for the refund to reflect...now they've changed their minds from 3 days to 7 days...let's see what happens
 
I'm not stressed about it yet. The shop has been quite open about it. The chargeback process can be quite lengthy so I'm happy to give them until the end of the week. If they had suddenly stopped existing I would be jumping around.
 
Confirmed with Standard Bank independently that the refund has been released so now it's just up to the bank back office to process it which takes up to 7 working days...so Touch Store has done what they said they would and seem legit :)
