Windows 10: when you can upgrade, how long it will take

Interesting!!1 I reserved my upgrade but never received an e-mail as stated in the article.
 
sooner or later you'll hear an article about how windows 10 will steal all users data bla bla bla... won't be upgrading... and nothing is for free on this planet. :twisted:
 
How do I reserved my copy through the “Get Windows 10″ process?

Have not seen anything on three machines in my household.
 
That minimum RAM requirement is BS! I tried installing it on a C2D laptop of which I forgot I removed 1 gig of RAM (so it only had 1 gig left) and it was pretty much unusable.
 
I got windows 10 preview rtm version and I am really impressed. I will be using this as my main os from now on.

All three copies are legal. Windows came installed on the machines out the box. Two are windows 7 professional. One is windows 8.1
 
i am going to use so much of my cap on this :(
9 devices to upgrade within the household.
 
and i suppose if u have 32bit windows on at the moment, you will get 32bit upgrade? or will there be option to get 64bit
i had 32bit Win7 on home pc, at the time win8 came out and u could upgrade to win8 on that free upgrade offer, if u purchased win7 in last x months.
was fine at the time, only had 2Gb RAM in.... but now i've been wanting to put more memory and upgrade the pc a bit, but now i need to reinstall everything bit of a schlep :)
i guess the change over to Win10 will mean a full reinstall of everything in anycase no? so may as well install win8 64 and wait for the upgrade to 10, before reinstalling all the games & apps

I don't think that's possible. Connect the machine to internet, run windows update. You should see a Windows logo appear on the right hand side of your taskbar. When you click on it, it gives you the option to reserve your copy.

Remember kids, this will download Win10 in the background so don't go plugging your 3G device into your machine at the end of the month.
 
I have cracked windows 7 on both my home PC's and have received the reservation notification on both PC's. Haven't received any notification on my work laptop which is running genuine Windows 8.1.
