WARNING: PLEASE DO NOT EVER USE THIS COMPANY FOR FIBRE

Their support is absolutely hopeless to say the least.

After reporting my slow speeds with tracerts and speedtests their support Tech Phindi tells me that they cannot do anything about it, as it is international traffic and do not guarantee speeds on international traffic.

I explained to him that the issue is only when using their account (Vox and Afrihost work 100%). According to him this is due to ISP's all using different equipment(which I call bullshyt on).

Example of speeds on a 20MB so called UNCAPPED & UNSHAPED line
He keeps on arguing the same point even after giving him proof that it is their data account that's the problem. So i've asked to cancel my account and migrate my line.

Is it fair of them to charge me the full amount? Does the CPA not give the consumer 7 days (cooling period)?

I don't mind paying for the data I used but to be billed for a service that is barely usable is absolute nonsense in my book

That sammobile server gives lots of issues sometimes. Try Internet download manager it definitely speeds things up. Wait for CISP or another reputable provider to offer fibre.

CPA should work, dont think this would fall into one of the exceptions.

Else If they going to be difficult you can use basic contract law by send a letter stating they are in breach of the contract, ie state:
The agreement is for ISP services including local and international internet access at 20MB/s.
You are recieving approximatly 3.4KB/s on international traffic.
They are in breach of the agreement by failing to deliver the contracted service.

Afford them 10 days to remedy the breach.

Lastly, if they are through Vumatel and advertsing on Vumatel's portal maybe raise it with Vumatel as it reflects poorly on them to.

Yeah I agree but that was just used as an example of how hopeless their account is. Switched over to my Vox account and it downloaded in 20 minutes

Here is a speedtest from yesterday on my 20MB line

I would of attached 1 of today but I cannot bare using that cr@p any longer.

They advertise it as 20MB Download and Upload but can barely even achieve half those speeds constantly

The 7 day cooling off period is only for when a company actively advertises to you. I.e. cold calling.

Ah, well I guess i'll just have to pay the amount and try and make use of the data.

They offer free showmax with the account, that doesn't even work due to their cr@ppy speeds

As he mentions switching over to vox and afrihost fixes the problem is a clear indication it is not on VUMA. You cannot do that on the VUMA network.

ISP: XDSL? Why not contact them and see what you can sort out?

I did that when I found that Infinity couldn't be bothered, however they advised me that they cannot help and that I need to contact the ISP with who the account was taken with

It seems that some screenshots on their Twitter and Facebook feeds may be in order...

Hey Nimz

Sorry you having such a bad experience with your Fibre. I was actually really worried when I saw your thread as I had already ordered a 20mb fibre line from them but having received my router and phone last Friday I have had nothing but excellent speeds and very responsive service. My speed test is attached and I have been running them daily with total consistency, also easily ably to stream 1080p Youtube with zero buffering. Just hope my speeds keep up

yes, I cancelled immediately after the posts above.
With regards to the catch 22 - it's standard 1 month calendar notice even if you decide to cancel within 7 days(as in my case)
What i did was, placed notice to cancel at the end of the month (otherwise they cancel the data which you've paid for without you being able to use it)
You will have to fill in a cancellation form and send it back to them. In my case there were further headaches as they debited me for the second month "in error" so just watch out for that.
