Telkom LIT Android media box - Tips/Tricks/Apps thread

Ok no reply yet. Am i missing something? Why is plex unable to play ac3 audio?
 
Dstv now.. Version 1.32 was terrible yesterday.. Had to remove and load 1.30 was able to stream much better..not sure why version 1.32 was freezing so often yet the other version played much better

That new version 1.40.8 is a replica of the 2 versions i mentioned.. But was also terrible when streaming
 
If anyone would like to install apps on an SD card instead of the internal ROM on the Telkom LIT Media Box, you can follow this steps (no root required):

First we need to format the SD Card and allow it to be used as Internal Storage. You can follow the instructions here -> https://support.google.com/androidtv/answer/6299083?hl=en

Thereafter, we need to enable Developer mode and change a setting to allow us to install/move any user apps (does not include system apps) on the SD card:
1. Go to "Settings"
2. Select "About" option
3. Press "Build" button for 7 times. The device will indicate how many more times to press before developer mode is activated
4. Go back "Home" and Go to "Settings" again, Developer options are now available. Select "Developer options"
5. Scroll right to the bottom and enable "Force allow apps on external storage"

You can now install or move apps to the SD card

yeah just tried that 1.40.8 and its a dog, and it's dimmed on FS
 
This freaken dstv now is frustrating.. Constantly freezing on this lit box.. Did a test on phone and it plays perfectly.. No freeze at all.. Yet playing both together, the lit box freezes.. It seems this stupid android tv os is the problem here..

And my phone is like 10 seconds ahead of the actual video
 
I just picked mine up and I'm playing with it now, it works pretty well and is easy.

The launcher sucks, installed TV launcher so I can see just the apps I want to.

Kodi, Netflix and Terrarium all working super well, i'm quite impressed :)

Is there any news on the Netflix issue that we can't have the latest app version? I'd like to have 1080P although its not a trainsmash

you can get 1080p, just check the first post with all the info and tips

please link the launcher you are using?

Sideload Netflix and use the test patterns, I am getting 1080p on the Lit Box 7.1.2

I just checked, it does 1080P, just needed to wait a while for it to detect line speed and so on.

My app crashes every time I try to go back. Say I'm watching a stream and I want to press back it says "Netflix has crashed" and gives me an option to re-open. Its annoying but it works, anyone else with this issue?

Also, anyone experiencing a bit of stuttering in the videos? (I am truing it on a different TV now to confirm the issue)

what version of Netflix are you using?

Quite interesting that you are getting 1080p in that version. I am using the other version with no issues. I also got that crash issue when using the version you are using

thanks for confirming - though it was just me , this version is by far the worst one i tested.
It is slow , and dimming - getting lots of error messages about video playback . interface is nice so that is a plus.
But will rather run older version as it seems alot more stable.
