Hi guys,

So as most of you know, Telkom is not capping us this month (so far). I have downloads on all day and night and I have to say it feels awesome not having to worry about cap :)

So is this what it feels like to be un-capped? Because it feels great :)
 
is it true they are not capping us cause i have received no updates on my gig status and i do not know how many gigs i have over?

Yea wait til you get your bills :D and their bandwidth monitor's are suddenly working :p

Telkom can only cap you for local usage so we should be safe. If they convert all the bandwith we have been using the past few days to local well then I'm still safe as I haven't done 30gigs yet :)
 
What is all this talk of bandwidth monitors not working.... I got my usual email this morning :

Dear subscriber

A friendly notification that according to our records your online usage as at [2009-07-17 23:59:59] reflected the following:

Blended Usage
Uploaded - 306MB or [0.29GB]
Downloaded - 2.12GB
Combined Total - 2.42GB
Percentage used - 80.77%
Status - Not Capped

So if they are unable to monitor you then how are they able to send this? And if they do not cap but can still measure then you could all be in for a big Telkom bill.
 
I am also still receiving my daily usage monitor.

Have been downloading all day, will see what happens at midnight tonight!!
 
All telkom accounts are getting "free" international bandwidth. They can only charge you for going over your alocated local bandwidth. Capping the international is their responsibility.
We should all be safe.

Mmm it is showing up as blended. I'm on Do1. It's their fault. I cancel if they try charge international rates. Local rates for this "glitch" usage is cool.

maybe... but if you think of how "few" people are actually taking advantage compared to how many would abuse with un-capped is a very big difference!
 
Ha ha isn't it fascinating how people view stealing from Telkom in a different light to stealing from anyone else. Most of you seem fully aware of how much international data you have used and yet you continue raping the system.

If a supermarket's lights went off and the security were forced to leave the building would you immediately start filling your bags and pockets with goodies and then leave? Pretty much the same thing really.....

And yet many of these people are the same ones that question the morality of some of the leaders in this country... pretty ironic that...

But of course this is "different" because you are allowed to do that to certain companies (and I, no doubt, await the influx of those justifying this theft)

You kidding right? We are the ones being raped. If Telkom f uk up? Go for it take as much as you can.
