TelkomInternet Accounts Above 3GB Usage can only visit telkominternet.co.za

Possible TelkomInternet Blacklisting?

I would like everyone to check their TelkomInternet accounts, ones that are capped and ones that are around 4GB of usage.

My capped account for December, can logon now, but only go to www.telkominternet.co.za, the account that is not capped, currently on 5.2GB (not capped) when I needed to reboot my PC, also logs on but can only go to www.telkominternet.co.za)

Is this an error in their system, or are they possibly changing their capping system? Local access again? What exactly are they doing. :confused:

That after you reconnected.. hmm, interesting.

Im leaving tommorow, will be back on the 27th. Will check things out then.

The question now is easy, brought foward by an IRC member, why would they still allow authentication to the "blacklisted accounts" and why would both accounts of mine be blacklisted.

The second account has never been "abused" (Telkom def) as the first account has been.

This is rather interesting, something doesnt add up 100%.
 
All my TelkomInternet accounts are on 5GB/3GB *innocent smile*
No connectivity issues yet.
 
I reconnected this morning at 10:16AM according to SAIX Stats, and my session lasted 8 hours, I then reconnected after my PC reboot, and then this happened,

Connects, just no activity. I gues its best to give old guys in green a call.
 
Just sent them an e-mail will check tommorow night when I get to Eastern Cape for a response.

Will also call them tommorow afternoon.

Telkom I guess reserve the right to deny service to anyone it wants to right?
 
Both accounts still acting weird.... will call Telkom after my flight today.
 
Just decided to call them, their response is the account is capped @ 6GB

They say there is still relaxed capping, but the new rule is you can access banking sites and something else when capped.

hmm, you guys think Relaxed capping is really still around?

That's very disappointing. I might have to change my ISP plans.
 
I know with @lantic if you get capped you still have access to their site to check your cap and up it if you like. They charge 10c/Mb after your cap pay-as-you-use if you increase the cap with whatever. Very handy:D
 
but i am over my 6 gig limit and I am still fine. whats up with what they say?

They didnt say there was anything wrong with my account, just that its been capped, and as per all accounts now that are capped, they may access banking sites and e-mail.

6.5GB to be capped at is a first for me, but its not totally unheard of if you look at the previous records of post on this forum.

Maybe they look at your other accounts in your name and see what you did on them? Cap accordingly? Else its just the random dart board figure the guys over at Telkom office got while playing their game of capping for the day.

Can access Email and Banking(ABSA)

Can't access Newsgroups

Are they doing port shaping or are they shaping the actual protocol?

they are blocking all traffic except a select few ie. banking etc.
