Depression.

Im struggling to sleep because of my depro now it is what it is
You could try a course of supplements , they don't work immediately , normally takes a few days or weeks for them to take effect.

I had a substance abuse issue for many years , so am paranoid about dealing with my depressive states with anything that could be habit forming. My brain works overtime and sleep was irregular and in short stages.

The majority of serotonin is produced in the gastrointestinal tract. So to my mind if i found the right supplements to boost the production of Serotonin in my body, i could at the very least balance the levels out or strengthen them. - 5-HTP

Second was dopamine , to boost that , calm the mind a little more, lift my mood and to increase the and assist the benefits of the 5-HTP , i use - L-Tyrosine .

Both daily every morning. Been on them both for over a year now.

Personally i have found a difference, and i do feel that i recover quicker from downward swings , far quicker than i used to as i no longer languish in my misery as much or as often.
Sleep better as well.

Worked for me , do some research, it may help you or others here.

I got to feel somewhat better today, but it's likely to be temporary because tomorrow is Monday and another work week having to be under the control of Satan (my manager - no other manager ever in my entire 30 years of working has been this bad!!!)

I did some 3D modeling to just calm my farm, I am going to build a new alarm clock for myself.
At Mambo's Plastics they have these food containers. You flip it over and it makes a pretty fine see-through enclosure for a gadget

So yes, spent my entire Sunday getting that item painstakingly measured up and into CAD. The lid is done and it's bang on accurate. Worth it. At least I feel better.

I have just turned 75 and had to have my heart valve replaced two weeks ago.
I have always suffered from depression and used and abused alcohol as a support for many years, sober now for over 30 years.
Depression is a killer and after the op feel very down and out at the moment, keep saying to myself that this will soon pass.
All the thoughts that go through my head are so negative.
There were complication after the op and I spent five days in ICU.
I am scared still but keep saying to myself " THIS WILL PASS"
Thank goodness I still hold down and a great job and the MD said to me the other day that everything is good, take your time and come back when you are ready, the whole company is standing behind me.
NB I cannot afford to retire.
"TAKE IT ONE DAY AT A TIME."
"Bless you all that are going through depression" I can fully understand what you are going through.
I have walked in your shoes.

I am sorry that you find yourself unable to retire. I think many of us are going to find ourselves there one day too. I know that I probably won't stop working as long as clients need our services. I am glad you are recovering from the op and hope that it will be an easy adjustment.
