Yeh but what I'm asking, is does the iPhone do true multi tasking as shown above in my screen shot. Double tapping to open up recent apps, and then switching between them is not true multi tasking. So I can have X amount of apps open at the same time, which means I don't have to switch between them.

So I was watching YouTube, while checking the Chelsea score and also on Evernote. Apple has never had true multi tasking, and that's why I'm asking
No you can only do that on the latest iPads. Having more than one app open at the same time on screen.

Almost 8 hours. So what happened to 4-5 hours? And your post above. You do notice the xaomi not 4 has a much larger battery? So yea, I'm sure it can last longer.

Dude, did you see the part where I said read the Edit above?

iPad yes. iPhone no. That's not multitasking though. Isn't it called split view? And since you in that industry. You should know.

Besides, iPhone keeps apps open in the background. android not so much. We we apple sheeple don't need to squeeze multiple apps onto a 5.5inch screen. We have real multitasking and can switch between apps in a blaze. Just as you said, 3D Touch, whats the point, I can just open the app and do whatever is needed. Lol

Huh? Android keeps them open as is, iPhone puts them in a form of hibernate mode. Android also has split screen, on phones as well, I have it on my Android Nougat phone. Android vs iOS is more of a form of preference for the average user than it is about features for a good long while now.

Don't worry when he said that I knew he was talking ***, Not a single iPhone on the market can do that. Esp seeing that iOS have no measure for it really. Apple themselves claim that iOS report's background Activity as "Usage time"

iOS has had an "on screen" and "background" differentiator for a while now, iOS 8 or 9 if I had to guess.

Edit

It's iOS 9

https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT201264

You click the little clock face to show on screen/background time.

So what is that? That's using 3 different apps at the same time, that's multi tasking. Sigh

Again, that is not real multi tasking

It's only for a few minutes before the app gets frozen. 3lOH55A's Phonebuff video is quite laughable because he opens and reopens the apps in quick succession. If he waited 10-30 mins however to reopen the apps it would've been a different ballgame.

Well, iOS has the option to enable app background refresh. This however kills the battery.

But didn't you mention that the iPhone battery is much better, and lasts longer?

Where did I say the battery is better? It sure is better than the note 7's :D. I was referring to my personal usage patterns compared to the S6/S7, using my own usage patterns. How are the tests submitted on gsm arena? The S7 has a slightly larger battery than the 7 plus. My usage and standby times differ vastly though. Why though?

No you can only do that on the iPad pro. Having more than one app open at the same time on screen.

Split view is available not just on the pro.

I saw it now.

I'll have to discuss things with you folk tomorrow again though, my battery is about to die and my Braai is ready for some chops :D

That is why I said dev :p

You can have stable or dev, its your choice.

Well ****, if we are going to start comparing dev with retail then me might as well just throw all the toys out of the cot.

By the way iOS Betas (dev) are also virtually weekly so even that point is inconsequential.

Again sigh, I said in so many posts

"usage patterns can vary based on the individual, and not the size of the battery" so a person with a 4000mah battery can get less usage time than somebody with a 2500mah one, based how much he uses his device.

Enjoy the braai, hope you can properly multi task there. :D ;)

Can somebody please tell me if the iPhone can now do true multi tasking

Like watch YouTube, while reading an email and checking Facebook?

Something like what I'm doing below?

Good lord I can't think of any reason why I would ever want to do that on a phone.

Tablet sure, but not my phone.

Only thing similar is that you can respond to messages and such while in another application.

More importantly what is that catastrophe of icons at the top doing? How is that remotely useful to you?

I just made an example of multi tasking, as compared to just having multiple apps open in the background.

What icons are you referring to? In the status bar? If that's what you a referring to, those are all my notifications which I haven't cleared yet
