10 settings in Windows 10 you should disable

The potential is that you will get a Windows that is constantly upgraded, they have spent huge amounts of effort decoupling the bits and pieces of Windows for precisely that reason.
It is not their main goal, so future of Windows 10 is not sealed.

Their main goal is to take over mobile market by using market dominance on the desktop market and kick out competition. It is not in the company credentials to peacefully coexists in the competetive environment. History shows that they will either take over or completely abandon it.

They can't be successful on mobile market with such poor quality of software. Google was forcing automatic updates for years and nobody noticed it. Once Microsoft started doing the same, it created large outrage. Their previous track record on the mobile market is poor and the idea of unified workspace is just ridiculous. It doesn't fit neither mobile nor dektop users. Introducing fat-finger inerface to mouse and keyboard users? It won't work as they didn't offer anything to compensate productivity loses on the desktop. So my prediction is that in result they will lose market share on desktop too.

So how many uninstallations from unwanted installs were there?
As I already said it's not the absolute numbers, which you would never have. It's the relative ones. How little praise there is for MS deciding things for people vs how many want to undo such settings. It's also meaningless when you consider that it's a shared platform for desktop and mobile where some settings won't have an effect.

Fresh windows 8 was slightly faster than fresh window 7 on mechanical HDDs. Much faster when both have an SSD.
Win 10 is slightly faster even.
There's conflicting reports on that. Some of the time savings were in boot time only as W8 by default uses hybrid sleep instead of shutting down.

I have a laptop which was slightly unstable with windows 8. It would sleep, then not always wake up without a blue screen.
I installed mint... and it was worse. Pretty much unusable. It would just crash while using it. Mint also felt like an alpha version of Mac OS X. No thanks.
Every two years or so I try a flavour of Linux to see if it's ready for daily use. Every time I realize just how good windows really is.
It's not how good windows is. It's that software development is prioritised for windows.

Unless you have absolute numbers then you have no leg to stand on. We know there are around 350m installations and growing on a daily basis...

You and a few other people dislike windows 10.. lots more people do like it.

Which you DO NOT have as the numbers conflate desktop and mobile "versions." From all reports the number of people disliking the settings are more than the number that like them.

Given that they are the same Base os pretty much.. conflating the numbers actually makes sense. But I do expect that concept to be a bit higher grade for you.

And no.. the number of ppl disliking the settings design not out weight the number who aren't phased by them or who like them.

The same way I play Hearthstone on Linux.

LoL... Ok. I know sometime back someone managed to get TM1 running on Linux, but the frame rate was so crappy it was not worth it.

Doubt it you will get Turbo Mania working on Linux :crylaugh:

I accept that you just won't accept facts in favour of your love for W10.

Not only 'Settings' app (I think they are working on fixing it, BTW). The way how they bastarized 'Start' menu is more serious matter. Instead of user customised tree menu, they are forcing alphabetic view combined with search button which brings a name of the internal command only after you fully type it. And perhaps a flat live icons plane should replace a tree programs structure. It is a joke.
