192k to 384k? ~~~August 1st changes~~~

Thats why i upgraded about 2weeks ago ;) And telkom didnt charge me for the faster speed in july :)

how long did it take from the time you asked for an upgrade to the actual time you had your line upgaded
 
time now 10H20 , 01 August 2006 , still on 192 , i called telkom , systems show switched to 384 , logged a query ,
 
i called them , system shows 384 , im still getting 192 , logged a fault , not holding my breath

less than 24hours
 
my line was upgraded like a month ago :D .... have been seeing speeds of 40kbs/20kbs down/up on my 192k line :)
this I believe was part of their upgrade process for 1 August ... I did not really request it.
 
ok shot, good news, so it shouldn't take to long then, on the line to them at the moment
 
I am going to phone them now, but who do I phone? The faults line? what number? 0800 375 375?
 
Just phoned Telkom, the guy says that I dialled the wrong number and that he is not the person to speak to. I asked him what the number was to query my upgrade to 384 and the number he gave was the number I dialled, he then forwarded me to the supposedly correct department and that was wrong again. I feel like Telkom is a Game of Tennis and I’m the ball
 
"I can test your line to see if anything has been improved, but further than that..." ENGAGED SIGNAL!!!!!!

WOW, I hit a new low now :(

ok, so i finally got to the right people at Telkom. They say that it will be upgraded sometime during the course of today, "So Just Hang Tight" as he put it. On an interesting note, he let me know that it wouldn't be exactly 384 it would be speeds up to 384, like i didn't know that, but thanks for dummies guide to ADSL :)
 
Guys, jeesh. We're talking about telkom! Did you HONESTLY think you'd have a 384 line today?

Just slow down. Relax. You'll get the 384 line (well i dunno about that either...)

Well in the past couple of hours my download speed has actually decreased. I usually get a good 19 to 20kb/sec download speed, whereas lately (as in since midnight) my speeds haven't gone above 14kb/sec (just after midnight i was downloading at 4.5kb/sec). Now what I am worried about is that telscum have "upgraded" my line, and this is the new speed I am going to have to deal with...

Maybe Telkom had to take some of your line speed to supplement the guys who have been upgraded already :) Just Kidding, i'm still waiting as well
 
are there still ppl that dont have the 384 speed? lol got a few calls and there sync is what it should be..... maybe your exchange cant support it
