not really
most of the web servers are on 10mb to 100mb lines so from 100 up you wont notice anything
please don't put it in rands
the title gave me false hopes
If you only have one PC on your network your HD will be your first bottleneck.
Not at all. Raid FTW. Can handle 128MB/s with a smile![]()
OK, what gets me is that Telkom has been stuck on the same level of caps for the last three years. "3Gb is enough for the average home user". They can raise prices because of inflation but can't they increase our caps also in line with the growth of the internet?
We should make an appeal to ICASA to allow our caps to grown on an annual basis. It's only fair. Our 3 Gb caps should be 5 or 6 Gb caps by now.
It doesn't matter if you had a 1gbps link, cause if you were to browse SA site, it would still be dead slow.![]()
With a statement like that, Telkom will do it of course! So you want 6 GB by next year? We will bring out a package that says 3GB the first year and the next year charge you without choice accordingly for the 2x 3GB price. That is how Telkom think.![]()
1GBps to where exactly? To your ISP and the sites it hosts (assuming they're not just on 100mb NICs)? I don't know of all that many sites whose bandwidth provider offer them 1GBps upstream (most are on shared 100meg pipes) and I certainly don't know of many sites which would be able to sustain multiple connections at 1GBps.
uurrghhhh
why oh why have we been cursed with her poisonousness....oh wait now I remember why, sigh.
