1TB (1,000GB) extra ADSL data for R99

Wish that could be anytime. It would make my uncapped useless as I think its impossible to reach that on the average 1mb uncapped mweb line.

Woah!

/Until I saw it's only actually night rider. But impressive nonetheless.

These guys must enter the mobile broadband arena.

Good to see most isp's make use of underutilized off peak time on their network,a real incentive for users to schedule their downloads

This deal could be amazing for VDSL. Huge cost saving and you just have to schedule your downloads to start at midnight.

ADSL line still costs ~R400pm :/ Bring that down!

There's nothing the ISP's can do about line rental costs.

A 1GB account is R18. R99 extra for the 50gb plus what is in essence unmetered data, for my 1mbps line at least, between the noted time slots.

51GB anytime for R117 = R2.29/GB
52GB anytime for R127 = R2.44/GB
55GB anytime for R168 = R3.05/GB
60GB anytime for R234 = R3.90/GB
80GB anytime for R449 = R5.61/GB

Although the above assumes that you will be able to use the "night rider" data without the need to sign up for the night rider R25/month service and you will qualify for the promo without the need to move over your line.

Absolutely. If I could get 20Mbps ADSL in my area, I would cancel my existing uncapped account and wrangle my download scheduling around this.

Afrihost's 20Mbps business uncapped bundle is R2297pm. Their normal 20Mbps uncapped is R1397pm. On Cybersmart, you could take 20Mbps line rental for R499 and get the 51GB bundle for R117. So you get unshaped VDSL for R616 with almost unlimited downloading.

Not clear if you have to move your line to them to qualify, i know for Night rider you have to move your line to them ,if you have to move your line over for supersize promo and no guarantee that the offer will last past February, makes the deal less attractive

A clear indication of how underutilised the networks are after midnight.Telkom also offering unlimited data from 12am-6am to capped subscribers.

I've already posted before that 1TB costs around R25 in Germany. This offer proves that this is the actual cost of data. The fact that cybersmart can make this offer, proves my point.

To the morons drinking the Kool Aid, you'd better wise up. We are being ripped completely.

The fixed per line costs MUST go. I will not budge from this position. It is the DUTY of all South Africans to demand an end to fixed monthly line costs.

They can't get away with this on 3G so quit letting them get away with this on ADSL. Cancel your ADSL in protest.

Cancel your Telkom landlines.

Refuse to do business with them on their exploitative terms.

LLU or bust. No fixed monthly costs. All ADSL runs at highest speed possible - no charging for different speeds. CHARGE ONLY FOR DATA USED. This is the fair and rational way to bill.

3G users are not offered differing speeds. We don't pay fixed monthly fees. We pay only for the data we consume. There is absolutely no reason why this pricing model should not also apply to ADSL.

What use is 1TB of bandwidth when it is slower than a herd of snails traveling through peanut butter?

I won't go near Cybersmart again.

The cost of data in Germany has nothing to do with the cost of data in SA, and this temporary Cybersmart deal only shows that the network has a lot of spare capacity from midnight until the early morning. You must be joking if you think we should all cancel our DSL connections and twiddle our thumbs until Telkom changes something.

I signed up for their free 'pink' hosting package recently and found their customer services to be appalling!
I definitely would not pay for their services!

I'm yet to see this. Most DSL offers are unlimited. I pay 20Euro for 300GB, it is a bit far from your R25 for 1TB ...
