20 buses burn

Wow - i didnt think this would of created such a heated debate.

Issurance claims are being processed - The issuers we deal with where all sweating and on the brink of 'vomiting' with nerves in the meeting - it is one of our biggest claims in over 10years.

Transport along the route has been restored with more busses and a letter of apology to those who where affected has been issued.

Criminal charges have been brought on by the Company and we have 15 people already.
We are working very closely with the Police in finding more.

Ticket officers have now been reopened and armed security are on site and on every Bus along the route.

Thanks all.

See, all you sceptics! Putco does care both about their business and their customers. Good on you, and I think those scared of travelling by bus will feel a lot more secure with the added security.

^^ We do care- our internal policy motto is "They dont ride, we dont eat"

The people responsible for not communicating properly with our commuters are being dealt with seriously - apart from this incident, we have had just over 80percent of regular commuters being extremely happy - We did in bus questioneers two months ago - this figure is up by 20percent from last year.

Good to know. How many buses were burnt? I've seen conflicting reports now. http://www.news24.com/News24/South_Africa/News/0,,2-7-1442_2374228,00.html says 22 buses torched and 20 more damaged. That's a lot of buses

In total its 24 busses - 22 are beyond repair and 2 might be abled to repair.

Its alot of busses - we looking at around 40mil worth of damage in total.

Burn the houses, burn the schools, burn the roads, burn the hospitals... burn everything!

Burn the people, burn everyone who stands in our way or opposes us.

Burn those who don't want to give us what we want or are entitled to.

Lets go back to living in the dust.

When nobody has anything there will be no jealousy.

no jobs, no food, no life... but no jealousy.

Yup, and when that causes an increase in ticket prices they're going to complain

Thats the problem with this continent - apparently there is a severe inability to see the link between cause and effect. :/

...But then the clouds parted and there was a golden light. And from the clouds came a single piece of paper. It was an important piece of paper for it was a ballot paper. And in that moment arrived a chance for the masses to rid themselves of the fear, the torment, and the frustration.
And a voice said: "You have all been taken for a ride. 'Tis what you hold closest that deceives you. 'Tis what you hold dearest that misleads you. Direct your anger not unto your neighbour but unto your master and keeper for your keeper has crossed the line between fighting for freedom and lining his own pockets with riches and running for the hills when the day doth arrive. 'X' shall mark the spot and set you free!"
And a voice from the crowd called out: "Yeeaah!!! Down with the engineers of apartheid!!"
And the crowd went absolutely ape*****.
And the original voice replied: "No. No. Not them. That's not it. Look a little closer to home. Tell you what, when you're getting warm I'll..."
And the crowd lost interest and razed a school to the ground and torched another foreigner and the last tip of Africa was lost.

This sounds very much like the kind of stuff that Bullard chap wrote in the Sunday Times not so long ago. Shouldn't you get fired now? :D

If there was a Nobel Peace Prize for "Realism"... he would win hands down.

Like burning down buses has ever solved anything.. , gosh I question the logic behind the 'commuters'

:confused::confused:

Next thing they will have tickets and no buses. Sometimes people really do not think of repercussions. I'm sure Taxi drivers were helping to burn those buses.

Hehehe, though I wouldn't be surprised, mind you.

Wtf. What a fail country. I'm sick of these failure people here living their failure lives and making more failure babies.

Honestly, someone should just make a retard people killing virus. It would wipe out 75% of the people in this country, but who would care?

/end rant

Were you going to use any of those 20 buses?
If not, then why complain about the country? How did this directly affect you?

This is why Africans like these, won't ever come out of poverty.

They did not achieve anything at all, except to screw themselves.

Jeez.... my man take it easy!!!!!! You'd think these were your busses.
