why he is a legend

vidic evra and ferdinand are the reason united have the best defence in the league

Fewest goals conceded in a season - 15 Chelsea (2004-05)
Most clean sheets in a season - 25 Chelsea (2004-05)

How are you the best again ?

K thanks :)

Bye

They may be a business and as you say they probably to consider image rights when they sign a player (see real madrid signing beckham) but I promise you no club worth mentioning considers a players resale value when they buy them - they consider what influence they can have on the pitch.

Totally disagree - nobody wants someone who is a flop and will screw the books once bought for big bucks.

united have the best defence in the league THIS SEASON :) evra and vidic where not around back then

im not worried about previous season's as they have no bearing on this current season

also clubs dont buy players on their resale value

how stupid would that club be

you want to buy players who will play football and help you win trophies

you think united will ever sell ronaldo rooney while they are in their prime, i dont think so mate

Killa I reckon they do this is especially true for the smaller clubs. Andy Cole would be one such case in point.

And United sucked when they were Newton-Heath and before they got a cash boost - how well do you know your United history - whats your point?

How well do you know yours?

There is no comparison between Manchester United and Chelsea.

Yes there is when united were NH FC they were in danger of going financially bankrupt much like chelsea in the 90's when we almost lost stamford bridge etc - its very very similar.

"Just before having to be shut down for good, the club received a sizeable investment from J. H. Davies, the managing director of Manchester Breweries.[11]. Legend goes that Harry Stafford, the club captain, was showing off his prized St. Bernard dog at a club fund-raiser, when Davies approached him to buy the dog. Stafford declined, but was able to persuade Davies to invest in the club and become club chairman.[12] It was decided at one of the early board meetings that the club required a change of name to reflect the fresh start they had been afforded. Manchester Central and Manchester Celtic were among the names suggested, before Louis Rocca, a young immigrant from Italy, said "Gentlemen, why don't we call ourselves Manchester United?"[13] The name stuck, and Manchester United officially came into existence on 26 April 1902. Davies also decided it would be appropriate to change the club's colours, abandoning the green and gold halves of Newton Heath, and picking red and white to be the colours of Manchester United."

Sigh at people who dont even know their own club history - im a Chelsea fan and I could probably tell you more about how your club was founded than you could me. Sad.

see the thing is i was born in 1981 and i dont really give a crap what happens 79 years prior to that

i actually only started watching soccer from 1990 when the premier league started

also when that guy saved united, all he did was save them from going bankrupt hardly the same situation as injecting 300 million into a club and turning them around

im glad he did because the league is better off and more exciting

We did not spend 300 million pounds to buy the league. Twice.
