2007/2008 WI tour to SA thread

They start at 7:30.
Doubt there would be a game..... The field will be very wet.

Wanderers dries very quickly. 30 mins tops. I was there for Aus Pro20 and it was pissing down at the stadium and we still got a full 40 overs in. I just NEEDS TO STOP RAINING!

Cos we actually fill stadiums up :p

Update....

4.45pm The umpires have inspected and have said that we will start at 8.40pm (1840GMT) and there will be a five-overs-a-side game. It will, so we are told, have a passing similarity to cricket but those of a delicate disposition are advised to look away. The covers are still on, but the supersoppers are parked on the boundary ... we're not sure if they have given up or dried everything. It may well be the former.

Other than to honour those who paid for the tickets (and avoid paying refunds) it's really a waste of time. As one feedbacker emails: "If I'd bought a ticket, I'd rather sit at home, not trek to the ground to watch ten pointless overs." Surely they should have a minimum for these matches of, say, ten overs per side?

So not much entertainment tonight then....

5.35pm South Africa have won the toss and will field. We'll have more team news when we get it, but can confirm Chris Gayle, the West Indies captain, will not play.

5.20pm OK, complete confusion now. It seems that there will be a start on time, so not sure what has changed but the players are on the outfield and warming up. We will keep you advised but as things stand there is a 6.00pm start (1800GMT).
Seems like we're getting a full match after all. Back to cursing them Chiskop :p

Ha ha cricinfo got that one totally wrong!!! :)

Well now I need to decide whether to wait for the SABC3 delayed transmission at 19h30 or "watch" online? Option one will mean no myadsl.co.za as you guys are bound to spoil it!
