Remember, the Jeep is a production car. That Defender will look very different when it gets to production. The designers at Land/Range Rover are doing an awesome job. Just look at these three new Rangies. I wish they were more affordable

FYI, the DC100 is not the new Defender. After the backlash from LR owners, LR has come out and said as much.

What they will probably end up doing is creating another lineup for the DC100, some kind of yuppie urban SUV.

Got an email from a salesman at Jeep after I enquired when it was due to be released in SA. Promised to send me more info closer to the time.

Their prices have sky rocketed - the wrangler I was quoted on last year Jan is over R100,000 more.

Crazy. Went to go look at a Compass yesterday and the fiancé poo-poo'd it. Grand Cherokee is just too expensive.

Cherokee, hopefully, is affordable.

Also waiting in patience. The look has really grown on me, although I have to add that I did sort of like it from the start. Especially the Trailhawk.

I think it will start at around R400k for 2WD 2.4L... The 3.2L Trailhawk will be well over R500k, for sure.

Just re-iterating that I'm a complete and utter cheapskate mostly....

But even saying that, I would think that R450k for a Wrangler is a bit on the pricey side... I would have expected it to be about R350k-R400k...

EDIT: Actually, that would be the 2.4L Trailhawk... Might still come in under R500k.
