2015 MotoGP

Petrucci and Dovi let Vale through as well...we all knew there would be some form of gamesmanship. Both riders rode well though, Vale all the way from the back and Lorenzo holding off resurgent Hondas at the end. TBF Lorenzo won more races so...probably deserved it

What a farce.

Zero attempt by Marquez to even pass and then he even gets heavy-handed with his own teammate when Pedrosa tried to make something happen.

I cant believe i was a Marc Marquez fan before. Hope he never wins a WC again let alone a race win.

Totally fixed. Not one attempted pass by Marquez, but fights his teammate off like a rabid dog, then catches Lorenzo up with ease..

Totally fixed by Marquez.

It's a shame that the title was already halfway won in a boardroom and not fully on the track.

I still love MotoGP, but the way this season ended left a sour taste in the mouth.

Well, there is no doubt when Lorenzo acknowledges the fact that the Honda riders didn't try to interfere, although he does try to deflect that by claiming the Italians would've helped Rossi. The difference is though, Dovi and Petrucci were never going to be fast enough to beat Rossi, just quick enough to delay the inevitable, so them making it easier was just good sportsmanship. On the other hand it was blatantly obvious that the Honda riders were fast enough to beat Lorenzo.

Lorenzo, who ended the season with seven wins to Rossi's four and five points clear, suggested it was to be expected that his compatriots would rather see him win.

"The fact that they knew what I was going for and that they are Spanish has helped me and in another race they may have tried everything to overtake," said the new champion.

"Dani did well because he could have tried a crazy overtake. We are Spanish and the title remains in Spain. If it had been in Italy and with two Italians behind Rossi then it would have been the same."

Also, did anyone note the cheering with every passing move Rossi made? Seems even the Spanish fans were behind Rossi.

Yip, sadly Lorenzo didn't wipe out and break his legs, but, there is always next year.

Lol, a bit rough.

I'm not angry with Lorenzo, Marquez is the class 'A' muppet here. Had he not been a knob I'm damn sure Pedrosa would've won at the very least and had he actually tried an overtaking move Rossi would've been champion.

What HRC needs to do before testing begins is to fire MM for wasting a bike that definitely would have won this year's WC and also sack Daniel Pedrosa for just not being fast enough most of the times(his injuries will flare up again if he crashes) Replace the duo with Casey Stoner and Alvaro Bautista/Bradley Smith/Danilo Petrucci/. Yamaha needs to also fire Lorenzo for being unable to show restraint last week when he tried to bring his lawyers into the matter. Replace him with Andrea Iannone.

Really disappointing from Marquez. He didn't even once try show Lorenzo a wheel. Superb fightback from Dani. Thought he was dead and buried with 8 laps to go.

Great ride from Rossi under those circumstances. Fourth was realistically all he was going to achieve and the rest was up to the other riders. All in all, one of the best seasons in years. Phillip Island will go down as the race of the decade!

Roll on 2016

How did DP catch up to MM ? MM was being 'held up' by JL.

Up until that time JL was pushing 1:31 consistently, then his pace dropped to mid 1:32s, over the course of the laps DP managed to close the gap quite a bit because he was in the high 1:31s.

Pedrosa will more often than not be very fast in the latter part of a race.
He's around 8kg lighter than Marquez and almost 15kg lighter than Lorenzo. In MotoGP that really counts when it comes to tire wear.
Both gents could and probably should have passed Lorenzo as has been mentioned many times.

But as long as "Balentino" doesn't win they're happy.

I'll look past the sarcasm and tell you - 67kg. 1kg more than Lorenzo.

So if Pedrosa had a little more talent he'd be unstoppable.

Pulls no punches, not sour grapes, he is right.
