2015 MotoGP

The Hondas are pretty strong at Valencia and with Pedrosa's form, I expect him to have a good race. Don't know where Marquez's head is at so can't imagine what he's going to do.

I expect the best Lorenzo could do is 2nd which means IF Rossi gets to 4th, we have a tie. Lorenzo would take the title based on number of race victories this year.
 
No, Valencia wont be interesting . MM or Dani will run away with it Lorenzo will finish 3rd and Rossi 5th at best ....but then Rossi wins by 2 points. People like Iannone and Smith could have a say on who wins the WC or even Race direction i mean Yamaha has appealed the decision and new angles show MM headbutting Rossi's knee.

MM took a dive. Yes Vale slowed down and deliberately ran wide but MM could have avoided the situation by not turning into Rossi. All this whining by the 2 Spanish pricks is a bit childish imho and they can go jump in a puddle for all I care.

Lorenzo is an amazing rider and Marquez has stunning potential, just a pity they are both such pricks
 
I agree. If the penalty is not overturned it is over for Rossi. There are good riders in the midfield. The biggest of his problems will be getting by the two Ducatis. Top-5 will be a massive ask.
 
Thats why i think he will finish at least 5th. The only Ducati to worry about is Andrea's then again qualification is not very important in motogp , by the 2nd corner he will in top 10 obviously , his corner entry and exit speeds are way superb than all the other bikes bar 26 , 93 and 99 Honda. MM needs to crash again for JLO to win.

Not turning into where exactly? On the corner where Rossi wiped him out? You did see they were both right on the apex, so if MM wasnt turning in he was gonna hit the sand anyway? In only a deluded world can you not place the blame 100% on Rossi. They should DQ him from the race and take his points away

One small point; the race director openly acknowledged that Marquez was deliberately interfering with Rossi's pace. That corner also has tarred run off. A sane rider and not one looking to be belligerent would've sat up, ran wide and come back on to the track. Rossi's move was perfectly fine until Marquez refused to give up, insisted on turning in and then stupid contact was made.

Rossi's move by sitting up. slowing down, taunting another rider and not turning in and causing an accident was perfectly fine. Yeah ok

Yes, Rossi openly admits he slowed down and wanted to run Marquez wide, perfectly legal in racing so long as there is space and at Malaysia there is space. It is a wide circuit with F1-standard run offs. Race direction had no issue with the act of trying to slow him down because that is what Marquez had been doing up until that point, albeit less forcefully. The problem is Marquez refused to yield and as the man on the outside and off the racing line, he has no ''right'' to claim the corner. He had to yield, no matter the speed, but he did not. As for the ''taunting'', in his words Rossi was looking at him and asking him wtf he was doing because he couldn't believe someone would insist on turning in in such a scenario.

Answered by others as well ... I'm not saying Vale is completely innocent but MM most definitely could have avoided that. And yes he did lean on Rossi first before the knee came out ...
 
Disqualifying Rossi and taking away his points would have been a travesty. The title race would've been as watered down as a F1 season.
For me the back of the grid penalty is already harsh. Four spots would have been okay, but now the Spaniards are smiling because their tactics paid off.

Let's hope Iannone takes out Lorenzo at the first corner :p
 
Lorenzo and Yamaha to part ways

Court of Arbitration for Sport rejects request for Jorge Lorenzo to participate in Valentino Rossi's appeal hearing.The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has rejected a request for Jorge Lorenzo to participate in team-mate and title rival Valentino Rossi's penalty appeal.

Rossi, who leads Lorenzo by seven points heading into this weekend's championship showdown at Valencia, is seeking to have his Sepang penalty reduced or annulled.

The Italian received three penalty points for causing a collision that sent Marc Marquez out of the Malaysian race – and is due to start last on the grid at Valencia as a result.

To avoid such a setback Rossi has also asked the CAS to suspend his penalty until they reach a final judgement, which could take months. If the penalty is suspended, but the CAS later confirms the FIM punishment, Rossi would serve the last place punishment some time next season instead.

Given the title implications, Lorenzo sought to be involved in the hearing. The CAS did not explain why it rejected his request but it is thought to be simply because he was not directly involved in the Rossi-Marquez incident.

Should he leave, I reckon he'd probably leave the sport for good. He won't get a ride at Honda (unless they let Dani go) and no other bike on the grid can compete with the Yamaha or the Honda. That said, might be interesting to see him on a Ducati.

The current Ducati is better, when he was on one it was a dog and he struggled, hence the move to Yamaha. And TBH Neither Dovi nor Ianonne have sparkled so...maybe worth a shot

Rossi loses CAS appeal


Valentino Rossi’s appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has been dismissed following a preliminary hearing held on Thursday.

Rossi was penalised by the Federation of International Motorcycling (FIM) following a collision with rival Marc Marquez at the Grand Prix of Malaysia – the penultimate race of the season. Rossi was found guilty of kicking Marquez’s bike during the race, causing the Spaniard to slide off the track.

The season was set for a nail-biting finale in Valencia where Rossi and teammate Jorge Lorenzo were set to duel for the championship title, but Rossi will now start from the back of the grid – severely hampering his chances of claiming the title.

Rossi leads Lorenzo on the standings by a mere seven points.

“Following the hearing (on Thursday), the CAS issued an order dismissing the application for a stay filed by (Valentino) Rossi concerning the decision rendered on 25 October 2015 by the FIM Stewards,” a FIM statement read. “As a consequence of this ruling, at the (Grand Prix of Valencia) – the last race of the FIM World Championship Grand Prix – Mr Rossi will start from the last position on the grid.”

Earlier this week, Rossi said he was looking for a fair fight but would do his best regardless of the ruling.

“My goal is to work at my best capabilities with my team and make the most of every session to get to the race on Sunday with everything I need to express myself in the best way possible,” said Rossi.

The final race of the season will be televised live on SS7 at 2.45pm.
