Had this same feeling as I watched him lose more and more places without fight. But Valentino did say the Hondas were unbeatable today. Maybe the Yamaha isn't suited to following...?
 
I think a big factor was the tyre choice between the Yamahas and Hondas. The Hondas were the only two on the medium front while the Yamahas (and rest of the field for that matter) were on the soft fronts. It was an inspired choice by the Hondas as if the track temp had dropped a few degrees, they would've been up a creek without a paddle.

Not saying the tyres were the only factor in the Honda dominance mind you, but they made a big difference. Still, think overall Rossi will be happy to go into the Summer break with an increased lead of Lorenzo.
 
Was following the indianapolis gp on twitter and seems like it was interesting on tv. Will watch the repeat on channel 210 on thursday.

I think rossi is not match to these 2 youngsters marc and jorge and also the retired casey. And it wld be nice if casey replaces dani nxt year.

If marc wins the remaining races rossi finishes 3rd or 4th in all of them who will win the wc ?

Marc in that scenario, but the question is, what will Jorge be doing in those races?

If Jorge finishes 2nd to Marc in every race he wins the championship.

The scary thing for the sport though is that Rossi is the only rider on the grid that can match these two. He is, at the age of 36, the third best rider of the grid and miles ahead of the rest.

Was a cracking race. If those LCR guys hadn't taken each other out, Lorenzo could have been down in sixth. Great ride by Petrucci in second and of course, Rossi showed what he can do when Marquez and Lorenzo don't outpace him at the start.

Six races to go so not a title decider by any means. Can't see Rossi taking the title in dry conditions...if it suits Yamaha, Lorenzo is too quick in qualifying.
 
i have a question

why does Jorge"s starts better than anyone else, i mean the guy gains so many places by the time he is out of the first corner.

Both Yamahas did repeatedly...they were trying to see who would blink first. Neither Valentino nor Jorge was really interested in Marquez...just getting in front of the other Yamaha. Was a great showdown and Lorenzo made the right move but was pushing too much trying to recover the pit stop time from Rossi who refused to stop.

In a way, you could say it was a great move from Rossi to stay out and make Lorenzo push on his new slicks but it wouldn't have paid off if Lorenzo was more careful...the slicks were 10-15 seconds quicker at that stage. He had plenty of time to cruise up behind Rossi and take the place off him.
 
Amazing race! Makes F1 look positively dull in comparison. I'll bet Rossi will be hoping for rainy races for the rest of the season! :D
 
Pleased for Marquez, delighted for Vale. Rossi is racing for the championship... He has one job. Finish ahead of Lorenzo. Yeah, the Honda won, yeah it was Misano, but the list of things he cares about right now looks like this:
1. A 23 point lead over Jorge.
2....
 
And then some! His lap time half a second quicker than last year's pole time. He was going quicker when he crashed. Think tomorrow is all about damage limitation for Rossi. Marquez and Lorenzo in a class of one it seems.

Very uncommon to see Rossi lose out in a straight 1v1 dogfight. Pedrosa showing something we haven't seen from him in years.
 
Yeah was thinking the same thing! Showed that mongrel that made him a title contender a few years back. I still think Rossi should've gone after him several laps earlier. I'm sure he would've eventually made the move stick and could then set about chasing down Lorenzo. He probably assumed Pedrosa wouldn't put up much of a fight.

Rossi's lack of qualifying pace is going to cost him this championship. He can't keep starting from the second row and expect to win races. He also needs another wet race or two because despite his qualy woes, he's unmatched when it rains. Lorenzo can't live with him. Still, probably the best championship in years. While F1 is a snore fest, MotoGP is not short on excitement.
 
What a race on Sunday. Brilliant from Pedrosa. I'm sure his weight had much to do with his tyres holding out for longer that the rest.
And well done to Rossi. Taking second place from Lorenzo is a massive step towards the title.
