I think it actually has the potential to be the 2nd best C-segment car after the Volks-wagon.
I will say that the base model is rather poverty spec. Lack of colour coding; fogs; old school handbrake/handbreak; fokol infotainment system.

Compared to the competition the prices are very good. You do get a lot more with the Astra than you would with a Golf or Focus.
Ja pity that, makes me mad. I so hoped that Magna from Canada would purchase them from GM!
My first car was a white Kadett GLS back in the day (well It would have been a Golf or the Opel), but the Golf just did not appeal to me as it's bonnet rattled when it idled 
, then a red T-Car 1.6 GLS (Brazilian made engine), and after that a white Astra 1.6 iE. In-between also a UNO FIRE which was fun to drive, but not very safe.
