2017 Suzuki Ignis

The link has relevance to this topic because it is about the Ignis but why I'm also posting this, is because of the reviewer's writing style and impressions.
So much of the 'first impressions' and 'drives' that are posted are taken from press releases that are handed to the motoring journalists. The author of this article tells you about features and impressions that can't be found on in the brochure. To me this is important: I want to read about characteristics that aren't on the spec sheets because the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. Sure, there are appliances that go backwards and forwards and all windows face North while other vehicles have charisma that gives a car some 'character'.

Splurging facts and figures are the ingredients, it's in the art of baking that makes for opinion and enlightened reading.

Well done Suzi

The Maruti (Suzuki) Ignis is on sale in India at a price of between Rs. 4.59 - 7.80 lakhs (ex-Delhi).

What you'll like:

• Unique, funky design - exterior & interior stand out in a crowd. Customisation options available
• Smart packaging! Good legroom & headroom in such a small car. Useable 260-liter boot too
• Peppy petrol & efficient diesel. What’s more, the AMT automatic is available with both engines
• Dual airbags, ABS with EBD and ISOFIX child seat anchors are standard across all variants
• Maruti's widespread service network, excellent after-sales support & fuss-free ownership experiences
• Features such as LED projector headlamps + DRLs, reversing camera, Apple & Android ICE, navigation, electrically-foldable ORVMs etc.

What you won't:

• Simply overpriced, not a VFM Maruti. Top trim is especially pricey
• You can buy more accomplished cars for the same (Grand i10) or a little more (Baleno) money
• Weird rear end styling. Overall, the unconventional looks will polarize opinions
• AMT, although improved, still can’t match conventional ATs. Also, AMT unavailable in top variants
• Narrow cabin width. Rear seat is better for 2 adults than 3
• 32-liter fuel tank is too small for this segment. Even the humble Alto gets a larger tank

Good extremely detailed review.

I hazard a guess that most of the local models will come with this ICE system:

As oppose to this one:

Or perhaps an aftermarket jobbie like the Baleno is offered locally.
