2024 VW Tiguan

Yup, If a POLO is pushing R600k, then a Tig will be R900k.

Funny enough I see a few new R1million CRVs on the road, So looks like someone is buying them. But i mumble ''Dumbass'' every time I see one.
I've actually just come to terms that all these "average" cars pushing 1 bar are all financed through balloons (current economic situation + if you read the fine print on all deal offerings they highlight 40% balloon). Even 500k cars are offered on the same terms to assist in sales.

and I've seen it past R550k.
This is crazy, not even a GTI.
To think this was the price of a Golf, like yesterday, not 10 years ago ...

9,k p/m those things are definitely bought on balloon, no ways people have that much to write off monthly and still afford to eat :cautious:

Volkswagen Tiguan (2024) Price & Specs

The new Volkswagen Tiguan will soon launch in SA, complete with a fresh exterior look, a thoroughly redesigned cabin and a revised engine range. We’ve unearthed local pricing…

Shortly ahead of the new Volkswagen Tiguan’s official market launch in South Africa, Cars.co.za has unearthed pricing for this 3rd-generation model. The local line-up looks set to grow by a single derivative to 6, though only 2 variants will be available at launch. Interestingly, in some instances, model-to-model pricing has been cut, mirroring the approach recently taken with the facelifted T-Cross.

Despite the fact the remaining 4 derivatives are due to arrive in Mzansi only “later this year”, we’ve managed to dig up pricing for the complete new Tiguan portfolio. Poised to hit the local market a year after its global reveal, the 3rd-generation Tiguan line-up will kick off with the base Tiguan 1.4 TSI 110 kW DSG, which our information suggests will be priced at R651 500 and immediately available.

As with the outgoing front-driven, entry-level derivative (which, we should point out, was R13 800 cheaper), power comes from the Wolfsburg-based firm’s familiar turbocharged 1.4-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine (110 kW and 250 Nm). We believe a 6-speed dual-clutch transmission will again be standard.

Employing the same powertrain, the Tiguan 1.4 TSI 110 kW Life DSG looks set to be priced at R702 800, some R9 600 less expensive than the equivalent Mk2 version. Opting for the Tiguan 1.4 TSI 110 kW R-Line DSG – the 2nd variant that will be available right from launch – will push the price to R766 300 (a price decrease of R15 500), according to our information.

How much does the new Volkswagen Tiguan cost in SA?
Tiguan 1.4 TSI 110 kW DSG – R651 500

Tiguan 1.4 TSI 110 kW Life DSG – R702 800

Tiguan 2.0 TDI 110 kW Life 4Motion DSG – R755 700

Tiguan 1.4 TSI 110 kW R-Line DSG – R766 300

Tiguan 2.0 TDI 110 kW R-Line 4Motion DSG – R834 800

Tiguan 2.0 TSI 140 kW R-Line 4Motion DSG – R835 900

We expect VW’s 3-year/120 000 km warranty to be included in the purchase price, along with a 5-year/90 000 km service plan.'

Doesn't look bad, but I won't drop R700k on a vehicle, noooo way. And as soon as you turn the key 20% of the value goes pooof.

Think the APDP this government has should be scrapped so car prices can come down. It's crazy currently.
