20Mbps, 40Mbps price drops expected

Afrihost. I think in total I'm paying about R1000 a month for cap + line rental?

Ok thanks and that should now come down. How do you find netflix and hulu at 720p at least any buffering at all?

How are you getting it to sync at that? I thought Telkom only starting letting their ADSL2+ start syncing at 20mbps?

The maximum speed on ADSL2+ is 24Mbps. So not being able to sync above that doesn't really say much about VDSL. Of course, if your modem is syncing at something better than ADSL2+/G992.5 then it will change things.

Ok maybe my question wasn't clear, based on the attached image of stats from my normal adsl router can I then conclude that even on VDSL I wont be able to go over the attainable rate shown in the stats or is that not how it works and adsl rates are not an indicator for vdsl rates?

I'm currently on a 2mb line btw.

Haven't tried Netflix or hulu with my 20mbps yet. Tried it a while back on 4mbps business uncapped and that wasn't really usable for 720p imo. Not to mention that it would never auto set to 720p and I had to continuously force it up to HD.

Will try again when I get bored and have a chance :P

To your 2nd question I think you would need a VDSL router and be on VDSL in order to see your maximum attainable rate for VDSL.
