2TB Anytime data

How much data do you need?

I am with MTN, but I use Afrihost Air Mobile which has decent bundle prices 1GB R30, 3GB R90, 10GB R150, 40GB R450 plus you get 1GB data for free each month. If it's 'fixed' LTE that you need, I think that Afrihost does those sort of bundles as well.
Nope traveling so needs to just be normal LTE. MTN has the best network I have seen in terms of reliability and speed, but would consider others.

Afrihost Air Mobile looks great, but I don't have a pay-as-you-go sim anymore, only contract. Should pick one up and throw it in an LTE portable router.

This telkom 2tb is perfect for travelling. It's not tower or region locked

Ahh starts off slow and then aggregates band 40.

Upload starts slow on Band 40 then the router drops band 40 and switches to band 3 or 1 for the upload speed to boost.

Telkom has always started off slow. I have found if I force to band 3 and then cycle profiles (disconnect & reconnect), I eventually get one that doesn't have this initial throttle.

The upload is as you have described, initially on a band 40, then switches over to band 3. Band 1 is not available on the closest tower.

I load balance Telkom + Vodacom. With them combined the slow start doesn't really matter. Vodacom hits 120 Mbps from the get go.

If go to telkom store tomorow will they sell it to me month to month?
Thats how most of us got it

Since the speed issue has been resolved weeks ago, speeds rock solid all times of day

Current speeds

And data just rolling forward. The 2tb is more than sufficient for our needs, the old "uncapped" started throttling at 350gb this is 2tb of lightning fast data

Im curious how long data is rolled forward this is from last month

I thought was one these online stuff that toh had bride someone to get it lol

Cool yeah give up rain 5g, it's just sensitive with signal being so far.

Telkom works well, but think tower only last 1 hour during loadshedding so will switch to vodacom during that time.

Haha not at all.

Thankfully telkom is the only network up in our area so we never have issues loadshedding.

Mtn is dead during loadshedding here. Also speeds are not even impacted. Just take all your fica docs and you should be done within 20min

Marriage is a bit extreme for Internet, don't you think?

Ok so some interesting info on the 2TB deal. The prior uncapped deal was locked to the 4G only network.

It would not work on the 3G network at all.

Guess what the 2TB deal works on the 3G network. So... anyone got a 5G router/phone to test the 2TB deal on?

Or is there no Telkom 5G yet?
They changed that it could in last year. They also allowed in on all bands they use, from the test I've done it worked.
