Nokia and SK Telecom have set a new world record for LTE with a throughput of 3.8Gbps using TDD-FDD carrier aggregation

You do know that there is almost no limit at which fiber can run. It is already possible to get 1 Petabit/s in a single fiber https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fiber-optic_communication#Record_speeds

The only problem with fiber is laying it and setting it up. After that you can constantly upgrade the speed as new technology comes out, you only need to replace the transmitters.
