I've been in love with the Bravia range of HDTVs. 42" would be awesome, but it costs around R13k, which would take a bit of saving. The 32" is roughly around half that price. Should I rather save up and get the 42"?

I got the 32" Bravia T series and dont have any complaint at all. 32" is big enough for my living room at this stage, if move to bigger house some time then I'll get a 42" and move the 32" to either bedroom or braai room if i have one.

Isn't the 40" one 13k.

Go for the Sinotec 42" full HD. HUGE thread here on it, and seems like 99% of buyers are thrilled with it. Only costs about R8 - R9k!

Yeah I've noticed Sinotec around and at very competitive prices compared to the big brand names like Samsung, Sony and LG.

Question is are they any good?

That 32" Bravia for 6000 is not so lekker, 1 HDMI input HD ready...
Ill go for the 32" Full HD its 1500 more but beeter in the long run..

How much are HDMI cables, are they really R300?

It's not a SONY.

People in this thread - http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php?t=85797 - compared the Sinotec right next to other "name brand" displays and watched full HD media/connected laptops, and said the Sinotec comes out better than some!

The point is you're getting full HD 42" for R2000 more than a Sony/LG/Samsung 32". With one of the best 5yr warranties in the country. Sony/LG/Samsung warranties are just one year.

That's a whole lot of good points there. :)

I have seen full HD 32" TVs (Game's Logik). However, that LG says "Resolution : 1366 x 768" - so could be a typo (full HD = 1920x1080). Unless it is "full HD ready" meaning it accepts full HD input and downscales to HD.

I would still save for a little longer and get the Sinotec 42". If you're using this screen as a PC monitor, then perhaps consider a full HD 32", 42" could make your neck a bit sore. :D
