360 hard drive.

And if I currently only have R2500 + R500 for a game? Too high and mighty, I'm afraid.

Only 1 save game, that better be one AWESOME game.

Edit: Also, that person should look at the PS2 rather. A lot more bang for your buck given the budget.

Don't recall any slip up's...other than not knowing it support USB storage devices ;)

Anyways, i can see debating will get old quite quickly on this subject, it has been going on for years...but I'm honestly astounded the MS has garnered the support it has even in the light of all the stuff-up's (in my opinion)...

I hear some of your hdd comments, but i'm still to be convinced, with the Forza 3 issue already, gonna love watching how the ship sinks because they excluded hdd's on some models as the next 2 years come and go...especially with dvd format, it only made sense to include an hdd for install of extra content...

The arcade is only attractive (to anyone, including previous 360 owners that need another one because of failure) because of the price point...offer the same model with and without the HDD for R100 diff and i bet the one with HDD is bought every single time...

Orrr....i would like to hear from someone that actually owns an arcade on their feelings on it...

Agree with you on retail pricing...don't buy too often brand new but probably 5-10 games a year at retail...GH series this year (METALLICA FTW!), Uncharted 2, Assassin's creed 2 and MW2...

:P btw, you like your PS3 ?lol

PS3 isn't too bad :o

@Dolby : Wii for kids under 12 i believe and kids from 12-20 is probably gonna get a PS3 or Xbox...maybe a wii, but more likely a hardcore gaming console...if parents buy for teenagers(lets for a birthday, xmas or passing exams) obviously they'll be use the media functionality, streaming if they have a phone that does wireless, have a wireless network at home or a computer in their room to stream media. And if they don't immediately they definitely will, we're in a connected age, my phone, psp, pc, laptop ps3, controllers and headset all talk to each and communicate wirelessly and connect to the internet...to assume people won't use these functions is a gross mis-judgement.

@Tim : Upsetting you ? [1]Facts or just my relentless nature ? [2] I'm on no high horse, i'm looking at technology consumers, when u look at this market it has a very rapid pace (development) and high cost so not sure where u get this high horse thing...but if anyone is on a high horse, it would be u...so you assume blue collar workers have no interest in early adoption or high end products ? [3] Many blue collar workers love technology and i've noticed many with better phones than i have considering i'm at management level. Blue collar workers that have PS3's, smartphones, hd panels so get off your high horse !!! Kapich ? [4]

My entire argument is that with most consumer electronics, you don't get the option to choose all the features and components, when they are spec'd, they are spec'd for a target market....so in short SONY had hardcore gamers in mind....MS though, they tried to broaden that market by offering inexcusable SKU models that attracted consumers (rich and poor but mostly uninformed) based on price point where eventually teh consumer will be penalised...Does this make sense ? [5]

What do you say about the Forza 3 Disc 2 install ? [6]

EDIT : BTW, where did you get 23% failure rate ? did you factor hacked consoles that would not be returned, out of warranty consoles, people that just never bothered and those that couldn't because they lost their proof of purchase ?

Please answer my 6 questions above, i'm very interested in hearing the responses...i've [] them....

@Maestro : hahaha, a few words for ya : get outta the closet....

Yea - what were MS thinking :/ I mean can you image releasing a console and having different SKU's for both the hardcore/wealthy and casual/poorer? I'm shocked at that :/ Trying to broaden the market?! *spit*

I mean if I was BMW, I'd make only the 7 series and fsck the rest of the guys ; they can get Toyota's. How dare they make a car around a price point.

And what's worse, they're penalised as they don't have all the features.

I'm off to complain about their lack of business sense right now. Thanks for opening my eyes to this unethical practise.

Er... I was replying to RPG.

I can't even follow your replies: the quote function... it works. I know you're only 42 posts up, perhaps I could give you some lessons?

One thing though, I am curious how people earning R2000 a month are affording these products you talk of. Oh wait, you're sprouting nonsense again!

Then get a PS2, it is cheaper. Also you can get a few more games. Remember that the xbox is NOT the cheapest game console on the market.

I hate double posting for people who are too lazy to read the whole thread:

Does Killzone 2, which I really really want to play, work on the PS2?

Tut tut, think before you type.

Well is that MS's fault, must they put a huge sign above every arcade stating no hdd included, of course its no different to sony pretending that blu ray is a necessity for gaming and user gullible idiots to punt their new disc format
At NO additional cost!
You buy a complete system which will cater for a complete gaming experience. It's not, buy the game and then if you want to play online, pay. You need a HDD to download content, pay.
Single player games only contribute to part of the experience. Even your much talked about Halo is enjoyed the most online.

At least sell a product to enjoy the full gaming experience. You don't see BMW selling cars with tyres as optional right?
