384 Kbps to 1 Mbps Upgrades

Just phoned, had a very efficient lady do the necessary. She asked me to switch off the modem. When she was ready and I rebooted the modem, it was on 1024kb/s.

I'm a bit unhappy with the download speed, only getting around 80kB/s, but that can wait for a bit.
 
I had to call around 6 times before I got my lovely 1meg sync.
On the 5th call I got somewhere, A helpful gentleman reset my profile, however it didn't reflect 1meg, so he put me through to another gentlewomen who would check to see if there was anything blocking the sync.
She asked for my telephone number, then asked what ISP I was with, which is MWEB, she then put off my connection and reset my profile, she told me to reset my router, when it came back on, it said my username and password was wrong, however a few seconds later, it fixed itself, I checked my ADSL Status.
To my great surprise, my router was syncing at 1mbps~
I'm just speeding through youtube videos now :D!!

Probably to shortcut the process. Telkom have a schedule to move over the 384 users to 1024 that started last night. It will be a phased approach, not a big bang switch over. By phoning you speed up your upgrade.
 
Also phoned this morning and got my 1mbps sync :) . I'm not sure what package to get now. I'm happy with my R85pm JustSurf uncapped from Axxess. All the uncapped 1meg packages I've seen is ~R200. I don't want to pay more than double what I pay now. What will happen to the current 384 JustSurf clients if 384 will be phased out? Will they be forced to buy the much more expensive 1meg service?

Well done faithful 384kers. I cannot imagine the patience you must have possessed to endure those speeds for so long. I think everybody deserves a drink!
 
Hey Guys any of you know if the Line in Malalane Is Upgraded cause im on vacation for a week and Cant check so if any of you know can you pls pm me thx

Many many many frustrating hours.

Can't wait to go and try out my internet which will be at least 2x faster, if not 3x :D
 
They obviously messed up my upload profile. Do you think they will charge me extra?

Does anyone know if IS have upgraded their accounts to 1Mbps yet? I haven't had a chance to check yet, will only be able to check tomorrow morning.
 
Cool! My router's syncing at 1MB :D Damn, there IS A HUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN 384K and 1MB.

My IS account through OpenWeb automatically started syncing at 1mb the moment my router started syncing at 1mb.
